The Parramatta Eels are quietly looking to move winger Maika Sivo.
Currently on a deal worth around $550,000-a-season, Sivo has been a shadow of the player who took the NRL by storm when he debuted back in 2019.
We’ve heard the Cowboys are interested in trying to strike a deal to bring big Maika to Townsville but have virtually no wiggle room to move in the salary cap.
Sivo was axed to NSW Cup earlier this season before being sin binned against Manly for a brain snap.
The Eels flyer has still managed to score six tries in four games this season but with Zac Lomax arriving next year Parramatta are looking to buy themselves more room in the salary cap.

Yeah like that idea of having Talagi to Centres and Russell back to the Wing.
I'd like to see Ethan Martin get a run.
But Gutho/Blayze to centre Russell to wing makes sense
The problem is, Russell is just as bad defensively as Sivo and is worse under the high ball. The biggest difference though is Sivo can actually score tries.
Martin still has a while yet unfortunately. Had he been in Cup all year and developed then maybe but he is behind due to being stuck in Ron Massey. One game on Wing and scores two tries, go figure.
Martin is stronger on the left side too.
He is a cancer of the game, the players love him though because he gets every cent and condition possible for his clients. Good at the job but crucifies the nrl and clubs along the way. Be good to get rid of Sivo and a few others along the way.
Don't tease - let's get it done Parra
Swap sivo with one or more of their outside backs plus cash. Throw in a hooker and we are set. Swap blaize for Lomax.
Are you off your head mate? Do you even watch football? swap Blaize for lomax? Lomax is coming next season why would we just throw away one of the games most exciting talents to get lomax asap
Depends if Talagi decides he wants to go to saints, then you'd almost have to look at it.
