If you can only name one player who you think will be most likely coming to Parramatta for 2027, who will it be ?
Whether you truly have inside info or just an educated guess, it doesn't matter. The whole excersize of this blog is to create some positivity, as I really think there'll be at least two decent signing for 27.
Now please don't turn this blog into a negative R & R discussion, as we should have the cash to make these signings happen. We should have upwards of 1.5 - 2 million dollars to spend you'd have to think.
Just name 1 or maximum 2 potential signings
Players off contract
Paulo 950k
Matterson 650k
Walker 400k
Russell 350k
Pezet 400k
Debelin 250k
W Penasini 500k ???
Signings
Jaydn Su'a. 650k

Would you go Keaon if he was available again NOS? Just don't let Michael see your response and argue something entirely different to what was being argued ahaha.
On Ford, that is the thing with Barnett going would they let Ford go. But also, they seem to be a club where "If you want to go, just go so we can look elsewhere". They are really good at that and have some talent forwards coming through. They love Stowers-Smith.
Don't delete comments Michael, come on say what you want. Seems you can deal but cannot take it. Calling me out for not watching Keaon and claims im a smart arse? Get a mirror mate. I have an issue on how you just simply try to use your nouse and i know more than you and my opinion is better than yours when i asked you a question that you did not answer and arguing something that i wasn't arguing against. I didn't say anything about his worth or if he is overrated or not but you argued like i did.
So let's continue here, answer my question. Right now who in our squad is better than Keaon currently? You say it is subjective tell me your opinion when you claim to know more than me.
Seriously "I forgot more than you know" and "I trust mine over yours" and yet after all that experience, you still spent the whole discussion arguing against a point I never made. Wasn't even arguing against what you thought i was arguing against and when i clarified you kept going. Maybe reading would do wonders for yourself.
I mean silly me, you do know more than me like when i said Ryles will play both Williams and Kautoga on an edge but you corrected me saying they are both left sided players....oh wait Ryles did to that. Funny that.
I see it very similar to you, LB.
When you have a roster hole that needs filling, you fill it with the best available player you can - of course with due diligence on them as a player / person.
Not big on blocking paths for juniors unless they are an absolute standout. Unfortunately too many don't make that final step successfully.
That's true, if Ford wanted to return to Aus for instance?! He'd be a great pick up.
One player? Xerri looks like a strong possibility given his issues with the Bulldogs. He'd be a good pick up.
There's lots of noise about Jenkins - he had an amazing start to the season, but the rest of his career has been pretty average. He's made to look better than he is in the Panthers setup.
Burton...still a no from me. Surely this was never the plan. You don't get Pezet for 1 year just so you can try and nab Burton the next. If he wants to sign as a centre on (very good) centre money, then sure! But I would be really unhappy if we bought him as a half.
I also think we'll try to re-sign Paulo year to year on less coin.
I have never known you to be so wrong Cappy, the Pezet deal failed and the Burton situation doesn't arrive until it happens.
Surely you can see the class edge he offers over any alternative we could possibly come up with, it is a wonderful opportunity that we just cannot afford to let slide!
Firstly, I'm wrong all the time. Don't undersell my wrongness Pops, just ask my wife and she'll confirm.
But seriously, is Burton better than what we have? 100% yes. But if we signed Pezet because we were going "all in" with our juniors, then signing another player to block their pathways seems like throwing more years down the drain unless we believe we're in a premiership window (which we very, very, very clearly are not).
I just want us to decide - are we in a rebuild with a focus on juniors? If so, then do it. Are we going to try and buy our way out of this? If so, then is Burton really where you spend your cash? Is it a mix of both (hopefully yes), then what is the strategy and plan and does Burton fit into that?
I dunno, he feels like another choice that is simply "better than what we have" in an incredibly pivotal position, which I don't think is the answer to constructing a team. If he is just another happy concidence, then we need to think smarter and plan better.
Here's the question I'd prefer we were asking:
"If we could construct the perfect premiership team from our current squad, upcoming juniors, and talent in other teams (junior systems and first grade) - who would be in that squad?"
If Burton comes up on that list, then sure go after him and I'll be thrilled. I bet he wouldn't though. I don't think many teams would trade their existing halves for Burton. This still feels like more of us getting super excited because we could be slightly better than what we are. Being slightly better doesn't excite me. Being great does. I don't see Burton making us great.
O'neill frantically trying to get Burton & Xerri over the line
Your Pussy is old, tired and worn out Chiefy.....my dog is smart and on the ball, her name is Annie, she is 11 years old in July and I am prepared to match her IQ and graded ratings with anything you can produce personally Chief!
Lol
Not sure to be honest. Burton seems content at the Dogs so can't see him coming to Parra.. Like to see Farnworth at the Eels next year
