Signing

I have heard Jack bird is close to signing a two year contract with us from 2026. I'm not sure how I feel about this

                    • Because pen isn't on paper, for example Pezet wanted to see if Hughes resigned which he did on the 28th of July nearly a month after Galvin signs with the Dogs which then instigates a get out clause .

That didn't happen till Hughes re-signed , is Ryles negotiating there I have no idea but it makes sense.

Im trying to work out why we continue with Papalii at 5/8 when he doesn't resemble one unless it's purely makeshift because your well advanced on signing someone else.

At this stage of the season any player connected to a semi final bound team wouldn't be announced if signed elsewhere until that teams seasons is done.

There is no way known this club would sit on their hands going into season 26 with an inexperienced 1, 9s and a 6 with a handful of games under his belt.

Were %100 percent going to market the question is who.

                    • Ryles agreed not to approach any Storm players in his first year when he was allowed to leave the Storm early at the end of last year. He may have Pezet sorted, but just can't announce anything just yet

                    • You said had his man, agreed pretty much. Why go for Galvin if the deal was agreed. You can talk to both parties sure but if one has agreed why go for the other plus, I doubt Pezet agrees before seeing what either Hughes and/or Munster does. As Pezet's first preference would be staying in Melbourne

                  • Bup. I know for a fact Eels Management thought we had Galvin on the Friday night, by Sunday he was gone to the dogs.

                    • You can have two irons in the fire, as a football club the more irons the better.

            • Even if i was a player, Parra would be the worst option to go to as a superstar player. What comes with being a parra player is everything. The spotlight, Fame, Expectations and the curse of past players and winners. Its a club filled with expectation, these stars today won't come they aren't going to live to the hype of a Sterlo was or a Kenny or Grother Snr. That 80's parra side is the foundation of what lays today, the club needs to grow from within to even replicate that 80's formula.

Why do you think we made GF in 01/09/22 because most of the squad was parra juniors and other players that bought into the culture of what parra is. 01 was the exact proof of why we should develop juniors but also buy players that buy into what Parramatta as a whole is about. And i see what Ryles is doing, hes getting players that will play for the club and understand the meaning of what Parramatta is about.

Galvin sadly should have come home, but instead drank cool aid from gus. Knowing everyone that knows the kid told him to play for parra as it would have suited his style but also something to play for as well. Now look at that kid, suffering in a system that doesn't even bode well for him.

Pezet is a player that would play 100% but would he play at 200% of commitment as Joash would, yeah Joash can play bad but at least the kid gives a shit about the jersey and the heartache that comes with it. Look at Paulo/Moses they too show passion, its the little things like this that can take this club a long long way to the top.

We as fanbase have to give the club time, i am too is pissed about the lack of any recruitment. But look what we have, a young crop that is hungry and we need to feed that crop and once that crop is fed were going to have a fucking awesome football side.

              • Great post, MON and Jim S have stabilised the club BUT now we should be moving into a different phase both should be replaced by seasons end.

                • spot on both of you.

  • Brad tried to get him several years ago and I remember the talk was we would play him at lock. I remember thinking at the time he would be good as a running five/eighth. I no longer think that and my opinion was wrong. He is an ok centre and thats it.
