Sick to death of all of this negative criticism

I didn't really want to have to start another blog about this, but I almost feel liberated that I have to, given that not only is there so much hate for both our coach Daniel Anderson and our CEO Paul Osborne here, but also today coming out of the stadium. All I could hear upon exiting the stadium was 'Get rid of DA' or 'DA is shit' or 'Get your f*****g act together you dogs'.
There's no reason in my view to go on any such tangent.
I understand that there are going to be people here that don't agree with my viewpoint, but personally, I couldn't give two hoots as I'm sick and tired of hearing of incessant negativity about the Eels.

What really peeves me off is the apparent lack of belief in these two guys that are pouring their heart and souls into the clubs that they cherish.

Instead of criticising either one of them just because they're the easiest targets to chuck a hissy fit at, why don't you think about what it would be like to step into their shoes for even one day?

Those that criticise DA for example, do you really think that coaching any football side, let alone a professional one in perhaps the most elite Rugby League competition in the world? Do all of the DA haters out there even know what that's like?
I know someone close to DA personally and they have told me many-a-time just how much work that man puts in to ensure that the team is up to the standards that he seeks. Roughly 16 hours of his day are devoted to devising team lists, devising strategies, studying opposition teams regularly, working out the best way to approach the game, not to mention training, and all of the other things that fall into DA's lap on a daily basis.
How do you think he feels if he was to read or listen to all of this negativity that everyone blurts out simply because he's the man to vent on should we lose. He's a fantastic coach, and he has the record to prove that. Remember that.

Secondly, on the point of Ossie. Being a CEO of any business or organisation is no easy feat, but the way some of you go on here, it's almost as if you think it is. A CEO is perhaps one of the most difficult positions one can hold given that you have a mountain of responsibility in so many areas, not to mention the fact that you have to oversee pretty much every single day-to-day running of the club.
Some of these rants you see about Osborne are ludicrous at least in my view, as personally, I think that whilst we haven't yet signed anyone of huge notoriety, Osborne is slowly but surely turning the current crop of Parramatta Eels into a dynasty, and one that will have an everlasting legacy.

Again, I honestly implore you to step into his shoes even for a day, and then you'll see just how that guy has it on a daily basis. Think about that before you go on a negative tangent berating our CEO at every turn and corner possible.

That's pretty much the end of the rant, but I'm just sick to death of all this negativity that people keep sprouting out of their backsides in the direction of the 2 men mentioned above.

  • mate the club is crupted alot of my mates have lost there jobs for no reason
  • I would think that if the club was corrupt, they'd be in significant strife, so I doubt that.
Your mates may have lost their jobs, but it's not because the Eels organisation is corrupt.
  • Here's a thought....
Let's have a victory party and ticket tape parade.
We could invite the ALP and make it a double celebration.
  • Finally someone has spoken words of wisdom. Look were all dissapointed with the loss and especially the year in general but we can't crucify Ando or Ozzy. I am confident that next year will be a different kettle of fish. I am hopeful that Ozzy will come out soon and announce some major signings for next year including Horo and Mitchell. The year isn't over yet so let's not hang them until the year is completely over.

I have high hopes for 2011 with talks of some of the new signings eg Cooper Quade and some of the younger guys coming through such as Loko etc. Along with some of the stars that we currently have and the thing that excites me most is the deadbeats will be gone. 2011 will be a new year, new team and a new comp. I hope we keep Ando because I really rate this guy as a coach and he is Parra through and through just like you and I. Support is what they need and not negativity. Go Parra.
  • hey ricky go inside the leagues club and ask a worker yourself ozzy has sack many of them and fringe players for no reason but business
    • Last time I checked, wasn't the Leagues club a separate entity to the Parramatta Eels organisation?
Unfortunately, that happens. The people that have been 'sacked' as you put it, may simply be surplus to the requirements of the club.
      • I think what parra eels is trying to say, albeit in his usual arse-about way, is that there are problems at Board level that have made the season difficult for players, coaching staff and ancillary staff alike.
        • He had a very strange way of trying to present such a point across BM.
There are always going to be problems in any club or organisation as adversity exists everywhere.
There's always a way out of it though and positives to take from it all.
  • Thanks Adam.
    Agree with your post definitely.
The signs look promising for 2011 with a great crop of youngsters in Mitchell, Loko, Sio, O' Hanlon, Allgood and a few others challenging for spots in the top 25, and the lingering possibility of some strong signings is also imminent.

Ando is the coach we need through the thick and through the thin, and I for one will support him for the duration of his contract.
  • Ricky, Adam, well said. Completely agree with your blogs. I don't know much about the administration of the club, so cannot comment on the other blogs.

There is a lot to be said about the so called "fans" who not only bag D.A and Ossie, and the club, but continually bag the players. Particularly on this site. And with such bitter contempt.

These people call themselves fans of the EELS.

Sure some of the players don't quite put in a stellar performance every single time, and as soon as they make a mistake, people are straight on them like white on rice.
You can't win every game, every time. The ball gets dropped, goes forward, kicks get missed, it is all part of the game. Where are the other loyal & true fans? Are there many of you left out there??!

WIN OR LOSE, I LOVE THE PLAYERS, I LOVE THE COACH, I LOVE THE EELS.
