Somebody please tell me the difference between the two. Its one instance why the shoulder charge rule is flawed. The smallest man in the souths team just had to brace himself at the last minute so he basically didnt get squatted like a fly. To a few peoples suprise on tv nothing happened no caution nothing. So tell me this the no shoulder charge rule was brought in to protect people, right? I have been thinking for some time a person will end up critically injured from opening thier arms up and try to give a steem rolling 130kg bohemith a cuddle instead of bracing for impact. Everything in todays game is done to the milliseconds. What i am trying to say isnt it just as possible for someone to be seriously injured by not being able to brace yourself?

Agreed, i remember Reni Maitua going in for a conventional tackle, the player passed before the line so Reni turned and braced for impact, he was charged with a shoulder charge and missed 2 weeks.
In the mean time IDG, Nathan Peats, Adam Reynolds are getting concussed against bigger players because they are not allowed to stand tall and use their shoulder.
League is not union, It's a higher impact sport, if they want to lower concussions they would have to shorten the 10 meters, banning shoulder charges has not reduced concussion in NRL, it has increased them.
It looked like Mason was only bracing himself... big man so gone for 2 weeks. Manu was also only bracing himself when he supposedly ran in with the knee... 2 weeks for him.
