SHOULD SIO DO THE GOAL-KICKING?

This is not a big criticism of Sandow and I'm not panicking.  Most of Sandow's kicks have been from wide out.

But he's missed a few in recent weeks that he was entitled to get.

Against the Sharks, he missed the last 2 conversions. They weren't in front, but they weren't on the sideline, and were very kickable, particularly the very last conversion.  Most good NRL goal-kickers would have nailed these.

The conversion before these 2 was really quite simple, and Sandow nearly missed it.

And of course, he missed the easy conversion that I'm sure would have won us the Tigers game.

Perhaps it's time to give Sio a go. And it makes more sense to have a winger do the goal-kicking. I'm sure a good halfback like Sandow has enough to think about during the course of a game.

  • Sio is a great kicker and I'd trial him, it gives sandow one less skill to focus on so it seems like a smart move
    • Yep.

I haven't seen Sio do much goal-kicking, but the vibe I get is that he is good.

  • No sandow is our best. Sio should learn to count heads in defense that try he let in the first half was pathetic. In defense if you have numerous players on the inside and it is obvious your side has enough numbers stay on your bloody wing. It was like he had money on the game it was that bad. I would hate to see burreta get picked up by another club
    • I think that's a little hatch davo, that first sharks try was a beautifully executed play
    • Davo - that was probably one of the sharks better exectued tries. I had more concern with some of the other tries that were let in. Some of them were extremly soft.

    • Davo that has been my biggest beef with Sio for years....but as long as he scores more tries than let's in then I'll sit back on the fence.

  • I think a lot comes down to the boot and with the for and against it would see us in the 8. Having said that if we got over manly beat wests and didnt bleed 50 points a few times we'd also be in the 8. I cant remember how well sio kicks though? Any good?
    • I was thinking about the for-and-against when he missed those goals.

And against the Tigers, he missed an easy golden chance to put us ahead with minutes left.

Just saying maybe somebody like winger would take these kicks with a slightly fresher mind.

  • Joseph Paulo got closer to the posts with every kick, I don't know why we didn't persist with him.
