Is anyone else surprised that teams are having such success packing attacking scrums from the middle of the field and our tactical genius coach has wingers feeding the scrum 10m in from touch?
Middle seemed like the logical choice as the fullback can float around late and worst case you have 3 on 3 both sides . I watched us pack it wide in the trial against souths and it was ineffective , wide in the trial against Penrith it was ineffective and round 1 it was ineffective . Meanwhile teams are getting so strained by the middle scrum they're breaking early to stop it . No one is ever going to accuse BA of being a smart coach . He's a good man manager though.
The move probably works at training because he has forwards defending the width of the field and thought it'd be the way to go. Dear oh dear . 15 of 16 teams knew what to do.

You were encouraged by that round 1 win? It was a replay of the game we played them last year but we snuck in this time. We didn't show we'd learnt much in the last 6 months nor have we the last 6 years. ,You're right in saying it's only round 1 though and we can change.
maybe he thought.....no hear me out...maybe he thought the other coaches would be like "well nobody would be stupid enough to pack it from out wide" so they did all there prep on scrums ftom the middle then FCKN BAM!!! BA packs it from out wide.See?Genius. Now apologize.
I think it may have been that and that they did not plan to throw it out wide to a wing and risk drpping it or being pushed into touch on tackle one
Maybe Bradley wanted to have two Browns and two Blakes on the one side of the field.
The Storm were feeding theirs from the hash marks last night. Craig Bellamy is such a bush coach.
I mean, you're trying really hard to find stuff to whinge about if you're complaining about this.
