Samrani vs Penisini

Hard to compare but I think the right edge looked better with Samrani on the weekend.

There is no doubt Will has alot of talent but he looks like one of those players who would excel somewhere else since his debut he hasn't really been challenged for his spot I'm hoping competition with Samrani lifts his game.

Samrani has the kind of hard work lower grade career that can make for a good 1st grader. We haven't had a solid centre paring since Opiciac left maybe Samrani is the long term successor to Russell.

If I was picking a side with will fit i reckon on form Samrani gets the nod that been said it was one game but he has a great chance to lock down a spot over the next few weeks.

        • I remember watching him in nsw cup. He was at left centre with Naiduki on the wing. I remember every week saying he should make his nrl debut. He was such a good defender at 18/19 years old. I would argue since then that his attacking threat has increased but his defence has gone down. Like you I have made my peace that he wont reach the level that I intially thought he would. People rated his union highlights for Kings school more than Sua'ali'i.

          • He played two weeks I think at left centre last year at the start. We abandoned that quickly but maybe we can consider it next year with Russell gone. Maybe a year or two next to the fox would sort him out.

  • Even the Knights have 2 Origin Centres these days. (And an Origin FB and the Kiwi 5/8).

    • Clearly, that doesn't guarantee success.

    • But a mid forward pack

  • Sameani for me as he can play backrow if needed too

As for Penisini i do think he lacks a passing game & rumour of him wanting to join Union with his mate Joseph i say let him go as his coin can be used for a better winger or 5/8 for next season
