Sack Laurie Daley why would you sack him exactly.I think you have to look hard at the people who hired him who thought he was the correct hire to be made.Sack Laurie but keep the guys that made that decision to potentially make another similar one going foward of course sacking Daley is the answer.
Watch Laurie's press conference if you haven't already. Looked like an absolute stunned mullet right throughout. Was all over the shop. I hope they sent him for a HIA after he was done there. Either that or straight to piss in a cup for the drug testers.
The reason why Queensland scored in the first half a good place to start is to teach players to play the ball properly, for professionals to make these mistakes is embarrassing
Depending on fitness, Moses should play game 2 if Daley is smart. Cleary couldn't kick us out of trouble until his 40/20. Qld started nearly every set between their 20m and 30m line as Cleary long kicking game was poor, while we played from inside the 20m or 10m nearly all game. Moses kicking game gives us a little extra distance and height allowing kick chase to do their job. Parra forwards play a lot worse than NSW yet we still manage to get opposition between their 10m and 20m line a fair bit.
We also need a change in forwards. We lacked any punch through the middle with too many ball playing or offloading players and not enough power. We need a hard running forward going straight breaking over the advantage line followed by quick play the balls but despite talk of NSW pack leg speed and mobility they got monstered and rarely made it past advantage line or bust any tackles till the game really opened up.
If Daley doesn't make changes we will be in trouble. As for Qld why is no one questioning why they didn't score after 20th minute despite all the field position and possession. There was 40mins without scoring before Ponga went off? Why isn't anyone talking of Munster and Grant over ruling the coaches and not going for 2 points when they lost by 2 points?
Sam Walker also stuffed up the last kick giving NSW field position starting the last set nearly 30m out from the line.
A well placed kick and good chase from Walker would have seen NSW catch it in their own 10m and defence making NSW having to go nearly 100m. Teddy fell after catching the ball for the try so the same kick would not have been a try if Walker found more distance and Teddy caught it 20m out.
Firstly we won, well done. We were in the first 40 pedestrian, Laurie played the old win the battle in the middle ploy. Kudos to him ,why have a super fast team ( koula, strange, staggs) exploit the 6 against, using our speed, if you don't use them. Wrong mentality hit them in the first 15-20 then open them up. Laurie in my opinion couldn't coach water out of a tap, we did miss Moses, if Ponga doesnt get sent off we don't win. Strange was great, as was McLean, Nathan was superb second half. God its origin, no more jobs for the boys !!!!

"In the 19. You can't possibly drop strange after his performance plus the fact they won, lucky as it was.
We're qld really as dominant as being made out?, sure they were absolutely red hot for the first 20 minutes and nsw were absolutely terrible…"
