Well obviously they think the problem were those above Ryles in Sarantinos, O'neill and Rodgers. And also a facelift in his assistants.
There's no doubt that Parramatta had the worst administration and football operations in the league. It didn't take long for Matt Beach to see that these clowns needed to be ousted. Ive always liked Ryles. He just needs professionals around him.
In saying that, I also acknowledge what BA had to put up with.

Beach has been a director since Feb 2023 and Chairman since Feb 2025, so Chiefy your definition of how long he took to "see" a need for change is 3.5 years or 1.5 years?
Eels keen on keeping Ryles
Parramatta coach Jason Ryles is deep in negotiations about a contract extension beyond 2028.
Ryles has one of the toughest jobs in rugby league – ending the Eels’ four-decade wait for a premiership, the longest in the NRL. But the Eels have confidence in the coach.
Some in the media doubt Ryles will see out his four-year deal, but that contrasts with Parramatta’s thinking.
This column has had two reports of meetings between Eels chairman Matthew Beach and Ryles’ agent, George Mimis.
We sought comment about the negotiation and received nothing back.
Ryles was the hottest coaching prospect on the market when Parramatta snapped him up in 2024. And the club have not changed their opinion of his ability. In fact, it has only grown after seeing him up close.
It’s why they want to extend him. It would also take him out of the running to replace Craig Bellamy, who has indicated he will only do the Melbourne coaching job for one more year.
Ryles would be a natural fit for the gig at the Storm, having previously spent time as an assistant coach under Bellamy. However, he is still building the roster he wants at Parramatta. The likes of Spencer Leniu and potentially Bradman Best could follow 2027 Eels recruits Jarome Luai and Jayden Su’A.
The key to the Eels remains unlocking the club’s vast junior base and making sure they have a steady flow of talent coming into their top 30.
I wonder what the basis of Wiedler's view on an extension is if he asked for comment from the respective parties and "received nothing back"?
If JR was the hottest prospect then obviously our leadership of the time thought different because JR wasn't first or second on our hitlist for the coaching position.They even went on fox sport pretty much indicating that.Onwards and upwards though May the clean out off the park continue and we look for improvement everywhere.
I don't accept that Coryn.....when choosing a first preference option, it is not always the best, even second best can be in hindsight a cleverer move.
In this case what ever they thought (did think), they must feel they have now taken the best course, otherwise they would be persuing what they then thought were the better choices.
The essence of an option is basically an insurance (hedge) to cover mistakes, you normally pay or receive for buying or granting options.....of course you can financially benefit with financial options (intrinsic value)..... but not with someone such as a ( a static value commodity) coach, the price can alter appreciably but the availability might not be there to cash in or replace.
This tells me they are planning and saying the first thing to do is to "tie" up their coach (who you can reasonably sack at any time) but not replace if he is taken off you.
My guess is this whole move is a Saratinos legacy and he probably introduced it to Matthew Beach as part of the way to stabilise the coach's position before his replacement is introduced.
