4. Russell - can't pass to JAC. Useless at centre.
5. JAC - is JAC.
6. Volkman - believes his own hype, turnstile, replace with Papalii, can't be any worse.
7. Moses - wtf with the goal kicking. Take the tee off him ffs.
8. Moretti - decent, can forgive his drop ball per game.
9. TDS - passes are not crisp, a poor mans Reed Mahoney when he ignores Moses' calls.
10. Guymer - meh.
11. Tuilagi - why, just fking why.
12. Williams - great player when we are winning.
13. JDB - offer him back to st merge.
14. Walker - only one trying.
15. Paulo - soft hands, soft body, run hard for once!

people keep making excuses, they keep droppind balls because of poor hands and bad exacution. these balls aren't slippery, go and try the old leather balls they are, these players are proffessionals! if they were in any other proffession they would be sacked and never hired in that profession again. all they do is live, breathe, train and play footy and still can't get the basic's right. the reason they lost last night is because 1 they can't tackel which if the pathways are any good they should of atleast learnt proper technic, 2 keep making errors which they also should of cut out by under 12's. the 3 reason is why did they change from Volman 1,s resever to Moses 1's reciever. Volkman was more crative and threatning then Moses when he was more involved. As for recrutment, cause JR is involved, all coaches have a say in the type of player they want and which players they want.
Our players just arent that good at footy. It doesnt matter which ones you pick it isnt going to make a difference. Looking at the reserve grade list playing today and the only realistic options are:
Nanva
Twidle
Talataina
Pezet
Brown
Kautoga
You'd be fairdinkum crazy if you think any of them would have changed the result yesterday.
Sometimes as fans you just have to accept you are cheering on a bunch of blokes that are just not very good at footy.
Nanva to centre, Russell replaces Kelly on the wing. Twidle to fullback, Papalii replaces Volkman. Brown and Kautoga replace guymer and Kelma. With the many chances the storm and ref gave the Eels these changes would have made the difference.
Last night, all those little 50/50 things went against us. The 40/20 kick from Mitch, the knock on by their FB (which is usually deemed the attacker not controlling the ball) was deemed a knock on by us. All those line ball things that could have gone our way went theirs. It just feels at times we are being punished for our stance on Lomax.
But onto us. There are so many deficiences in this team. Not sure who to blame, but Ryles is over achieving with what he has.
We have no go forward at all and our back five are not making many metres. See last night Storm kicked on the 3rd tackle. We made 26m that set on return and most of the tackles were from our back 5. We make no post contact metres, and usually driven back. Moses kicks are the only thing keeping us even remotely competitive. Stands out like dogs balls to someone like Bellamy.
No pace either apart from JAC. But he offers very little in punch on kick returns. Moses Leo burnt Samrani last night. If Leo had the pace of our backs, Samrani gets him.
The other thing is the ruck speed. We were playing at a different level to the Storm, and Grant carved us up. The 6 again rule here is where the game pisses me off this year. If you are seen to have a dominant tackle, they lie all over you in the ruck and not pinged. If however you don't dominate (which is most of our tackles), anything like what the Storm were doing gets pinged for a ruck infringement. Fatigue sets in and we end up with dropped balls etc. Last week they showed they can complete high and be disciplined so I'm sure it's a fatigue thing.
Ryles took a gamble on how the game would be played this year and gambled wrong. This could all change in the near future as the NRL will have no choice but to change things. The game this year is NOT entertaining. I'm so glad I didn't spend any money on Magic Round, as the games to this point have not been very good as a spectacle. I remember they screwed MR with their high tackle crack down and sent every 2nd player to the bin. What a joke.
My son said to me he felt like switching it off at half time most of these games as it's so lopsided. I don't disagree. Not even really watching it now and just have it on in the background. Once again the NRL have meddled and turned the game into complete shit. I don't like it!!
