Ryan Matterson opens up on concussion battle

So basically saying he is dealing with headaches and blurred vision. Article says medical retirement is an option but Matterson himself did not quote that. He will see out his deal for 2026, earn his free cash and go into the sunset. We all know he will do that and good on him, wasn't his fault he got the contract.

  • Wonder how easy you could fake those symptoms and how they'd be able to say he doesn't have them?

I mean women have had spontaneous headaches for 100s of years.

  • I have such symptoms watching our games each week

  • End of the day I guess a bad contract like his is balanced by taking a Isaiah Papalii's and others money ball contracts.

I mean we've done worse the salary cap rort and losing players in the same year ruining a finals campaign then having to turn around and building a team with 700 k less than every other team the following year 2016-2017.

Rings and round abouts this club oh well whens he off contract end of this year just got to eat it and move on.

  • It's interesting that the club refuse to put him on the injured list. What is this saying!

    1. The Club Doctors have no physical evidence, tests are not conclusive One way or another ?

    2. The club can see a lawsuit coming if they agree he is injured ?

    3. The club has forgotten to put him on the injured list.

    4. Who is deciding he is able to train whilst experiencing all of this. Is he training with the team or by himself.

All indicators are that Ryan will be suing the NRL, The Roosters who he has stated many times he had concussion symptoms when playing for them, The Tigers who as stated by him didn't give two hoots about his medical condition / concussion, Warrington Wolves where he suffered another head knock and was released from playing or the Eels who are not playing him and are not saying a word one way or another. The path leads to court me thinks! One last giant payday play perhaps to set him up for the medical treatment he is going to require for the rest of his life.

Hope you get better soon Ryan!

    • Wasn't the reason Matto left Wests was due to Madge forcing him to play when in hospital a few days prior?

  • So he has these neurological symptoms but doesn't even respect himself and his future enough to call it quits. Does he think more contact will help?

  • Keep collecting the cash to supplement instagram career. Only at Parra.

    • How anyone can have sympathy for this guy truly amazes.

He's been a dud for the last 4 years, showing no heart for Parra and i can't wait  for his salary for $700 a year to finish come October.
