"His market" is subjective LB, his future at SL is probably a 3 year deal, which will see him home, realistically he probably like most of us, see about one good year left in him for NRL.....
I would take Nikorima if we cannot get what we want, he can even play hooker at a pinch. BUT not if we get who we want, namely Burton in the first instant. At this point in time it gives you further options as we are not going to produce a home grown 5/8 from what I can tell. Joash is just as effective as a fill in as Volkman is, together as a halves pairing they do not offer enough.....Moses and Burton give us an elite pairing with Iongi and one of our young hookers.
Having players like Volkman and Joash singly offer back ups, Nokorima only if we don't get the 5/8 we want.
Now this type of planning is what (i hope) is taking place as we talk, can someone explain that to our soldiers (dumb fans) that they are not privy to such discussions....
Doesn't that actually support my point? If Super League is offering the security of a three-year deal while NRL clubs aren't, that's a reflection of his market. Market isn't just ability, it's what clubs are prepared to offer and for how long.
So therefore if anyone is upset with not getting Nikorima, well other clubs aren't commiting either.
Never disagreed with you LB, just explained the subjectiveness of "his market" you are getting a bit sensitive in your old age, too much time on social media.
PS No need to be getting old and cantankerous at your age....leave it to us silly old bastards!
I wasn't disagreeing with your overall point. I was more talking about the use of "subjective". Opinions on a player's ability are subjective, but his market is largely determined by what clubs are willing to offer. And I wasn't annoyed, just discussing the point. No sensitivity mainly just discussion and some debating.
I'd take Nikorima before Volkman today yesterday every damn day and it isn't even close.
Wayne Bennett of all people keeps finding a way to sign this guy when he's available yet some of our fans think Volkman is that guy.
Much like Tuilagi man if Volkman isn't with us next year I'm not losing any sleep.Club already farked itself allowing DB to bail. Now it's damage control neither of the mentioned are long term answers for anything so stop gap with the best possible and call it a day.Volkman isn't it.
He would be exactly what we need for a year or two! Please go for him Parra! Volkman reportedly seeking a super league deal too, so assume we aren't interested in re-signing.
parra would be nuts not to persue Kodi. Loenzo appears to be a coupla years off to develop from my limited viewing.
"I will never ever forget Fitzy's smirky smile immediately on him coming out on Tele first, with the news we were slugged with our 12 point deduction for salary cap rort. He was actually looking pleased!!
no one that saw that would EVER be…"

Getting used to Moses being OUT is a fact

I'll agree with that statement 🙄

I agree but only if we are looking for a stop gap for a season or two. If we could nab someone better for long term I would take that over Nikorima.
