An unchanged squad of 19 for Jason Ryles in preparation for a tough match hosting the Warriors. Utility Dylan Walker has been named on the extended bench despite failing to see out the contest against the Sea Eagles last week with an arm injury.

That's one depressing team
My god people say it every week, what did you expect?
Supporters expect some changes, and for the coach to give some young kids a go, especially when the team has been underperforming and poor form from some players. Maybe we'd all like to see Nanva, Teancum Brown and Talataina have a go.
Ryles looks like Brad Arthur 2.0
Ryles famously has never given kids a go.
You don't give kids ago in this situation, plus I don't think they can use them until round 11. I think we've already used up our dispensations.
It is not actually giving kids a go in this situation. Coaching staff may feel their hand is being forced, and that may be so....but dumping kids into this due to a forced hand SHOULD NOT be confused with giving them a go or "giving them their shot"
We seem to have a belief in the talent of the jnrs coming through. That makes not fucking up their development our no1 priority.
If we seriously judge this crop of juniors as outstanding (i'm noit sold but it's possible) and we fail to get them over the line, some hard questions would need to be asked...questions like "What is the fucking point of us?".
I am yet to be convinced that we, as a group, can develop a Polaroid photo properly, let alone Top Teir players. We hope we can do it but our ability to get it done is not in evidence
Even with Nanva in its still an average team. Same if Brown was in. Just fact.
Im ok with how they are handling Talataina.
Already have some young players in there. Other than Kelly, Ado-Carr Paulo, Debelin and Walker, most of the other players are pretty young. Saxon Prike finds himself playing NRL well before he expected to. Throwing them all in together is asking for trouble, and of course you need to consider their development as a priority.
Pryke is 22 this year. Not many NRL players debut later than that.
exactly. When the current squad is underperforming and it's obvious the Eels are not going to make finals this year the surely the coach should be trying some of the younger players who are possible future NRL top 30 players. He has nothing to lose and more to gain
