Centre Sean Russell returns from concussion so Brian Kelly moves to the wing and last week's debutant Araz Nanva slides to the interchange. Charlie Guymer and Jack Williams are the new second-rowers in place of Kelma Tuilagi (head knock) and Kitione Kautoga. The loss of bench forward Sam Tuivaiti (head knock) sees Saxon Pryke join the bench for his NRL debut. Prop Toni Mataele has also been added to the bench as he chases a second NRL appearance after debuting in Round 11 last year.

        • It is more so his position. His position is prone to more criticism than most.

        • There are too many variables to consider all up. The only constant being opportunity.
Lorenzo, in all seriousness, may not be ready round 1 next year.
The continual imbalance of rosters between FG and Cup due to injury could hinder his progress all up.
He just needs to make the most of his playing opportunities in whatever grade selected.
Wolves, could be considered as internal and external.
Prepping the individual to interpret and tolerate such packs is paramount, no matter the age or experience.
          Good luck when chosen Lorenzo.

          I feel sorry for Volkman.
3 starts for us in two years tallying 3 losses, added up to a score total of 32 - 140.
Hopefully the footy gods are on his side this weekend.

  • Only thing I like about this team list is Williams back on the edge. He misses way too many tackles in the middle and his carrys aren't effective in the middle

  • With all the injuries i can accept some selections have to be as they are and not on merit but I can't understand persisting with Kelly zero upside in him.

    • is this because kelly is top 30 and available where as nanva isnt and therefore only available if we short top 30 players? surely the only reason? otherwise id have kelly no where near the top grade side.

      • If that was the case, where Nanva being 2nd tier cannot play NRL, he wouldn't be named 19 where technically he can come one whenever Ryles wants him to, unless he has used all 4 subs.

  • This has the 1995 eels v dogs at parra vibe. Dogs were expected to smash us but the eels got up 22-16 with a shit team. Woods and fawcett tore the dogs a new arshole. Lets hope history repeats

    • Woods was a  gun too bad for injuries!!

  • Sounds like an enjoyable watch kendoza it's no fun watching your future young players get belted .

    • They won't

I would be confident that at this stage ( 6 and a quarter rounds played ) the Dragons and the Eels look the only 2 possibilities of getting the 2026 spoon. "
