          • Yea if Papalii comes into the team it has to be at 6 right now over Pezet which I would want now. Developing Pezet has no value to us

          • I advocated for Da Silva to play some minutes in Cup. But at the moment, he needs to stay in NRL and continue to develop with the better and stronger league.

        • The only way Ryles would do it is going for 4 forwards. He only using Joash over Da Silva is due to injury in the backs or halves. If Ryles brought Joash in as a 14 and give Smith some time off then yeah not great for Da Silva.

    • Nah Tallyn is closer to starting than he is to being dropped. Dont get me wrong Riley Smith is probably close to my favourite player. But being honest I think Tallyn might have a higher ceiling.

      • I think that would be part of the reason JR signed him. He changed our game last week when he came on, and showed something about what he is capable of. Until he can play big minutes however, I don't see him starting. He's best used against tiring defenders for the moment.

  • Joash gets the no.19 for the 4th week in a row. How much is this hindering his development? It's not right, he must feel like he's in limbo, can't be picked for Cup and can't crack the 1st grade 17. It would suck. I wouldn't blame him if he starts looking elsewhere for opportunities.

    • He played 7 in reserve grade last week against the dragons so he is getting some game time.

    • Papalii played 40min of cup last week before the nrl game

      • Ahh, I had assumed if picked for 1st grade, couldn't play Cup.

Even though he was not named, is it possible he could play for Cup this week if not used in 1st Grade?

    • You have to wonder what the plan is for Joash. I can't see him fitting in anywhere other than cover for halves and fullback. A great asset for the club, but how long will he be content with that?

We haven't lost our first 3/7 games like last year.

We still have Mitch
Our bench is now a strength, not a weakness.

"With a little lucky we climb higher than last year, I'm guessing 8-9th. We've started much better than last year, so why shouldn't we be giving the 8 a nudge?"

Willie Mason is onto something. The Panthers give away a set restart on the first tackle if they lose the contact. They value getting their line set, and not allowing the opposition any momentum that they're prepared to give away a 6 again on the…
