Super League club Castleford is targetting Parramatta prop Kane Evans, according to RLNews.co.uk.
Off-contract at the end of this year, the report states that the Tigers are going to make the 28-year old a priority.
The Eels’ off-season additions of Ryan Matterson and Regan Campbell-Gillard to join an already strong forward pack including Junior Paulo, Nathan Brown and Shaun Lane could make Evans epxendable.
Evans told The Sydney Morning Herald earlier this month: “I want to play until I’m 32 and then retire. I don’t know how many more pre-seasons my body can go through.
“I want to be playing NRL this year. When I get my chance I’ll try to dominate, do what I do, try and win a comp and get a new contract. I want to start well and then see where I’ll be in 2021.”

Midway through last year I would have said let him go.
But after he picked up his form and didn't spit the dummy from being dropped, I'm hoping he puts in a big year, puts pressure on the other forwards and causes headaches in the selection process.
Completely agree
I actually think he'll have a big year, seems to be running with intent and seems to genuinely like hurting blokes in the tackle and I like that in a player. Should we let him go?I don't think it sounds like he is ready to go to ESL just yet.
Might sign with them and have a Manu Ma'u streak of form before leaving
That's some nice cap clearing if they take him
I think this has some legs, and good luck to him if they offer something substantial.
This was reported months ago and has now re surfaced recently. When in form, I think he is a keeper, sadly it took him some time to overcome his injuries and start living up to his potential. I hope the Club gives him time to prove consistency before making a decision. That said, if he is offered massive $ to head O/S then so be it.
Some idiots thought we shouldn't have signed him for three years. If we signed him for two we only would've gotten one good season out of him.
Pou, when I first heard of his signing, I was pleased, given the dearth of props we had at the time and none really of his size and what he showed at times with the chicks. His first year and half of last year had me in a completely different view regarding him, as players around him with leaner frames such as Ma'u were in a league beyond him, Alvaro when at his lower weight also was better. In the second round he started to pick up his act, initially slowly though.
I have no idea what coin he's one ATM, but unless he really shows out in a huge season, he may well be on the move, not MAY. Depending on what he's on now and what will be offered in SL, much will depend on that aspect of whether he stays or goes, with the kitty cats also in the watching basket he could do better elsewhere though than staying at the eels.
He turns 29 next year, he says he wants to play to 32 years, I doubt he will get a 3 year extension with the eels, likely 2 at best and possibly less money. From my perspective though I would say that Kafusi will take his spot next year, and its also possible this year as well. Also with Alvaro breathing down his neck, if Peni slippery hands can get some sort of legal sticking compound on his hands he could also be worth a short term keep contract.
BEM, I would suggest that RCG is well in front of Evans and why he is being selected as the run on prop.
He needs to have a big season to hold down a spot beyond this year, he has the size and all to do it, as for Alvaro he had a dissapointing season last year when compared to previous years, while he has a contract until end of next year its likely his last. As for staying at the eels, he has indicated he wants to play until he's 32, and with one SL club already interested he's likely to be in a similar position to Manu wanting to secure a financial future, more possible in England or with Wests.
I see Kafusi being a bench player this year as he develops. I may well be wrong but I do believe there will be changes this year with the younger forwards given their chances off the bench, especially Kafusi & Nuikure, Kafusi as prop and Nuikure in the back 3 spot off the bench.
