Recruitment

I cannot believe some of the Eels recruitment purchase. Hodgson is over the hill and is obviously causing lack of harmony by his style. Doorey has previous injuries that were bound to happen as is Hodgson. Murchie is average, Makaslower is average, Blake is below average, Simonsen is below average, Skidrow (Sivo) is average, Matto loves his money and the only decent purchase has been Hopgood. To much reliance on RCG and Paulo combined with extremely poor recruitment. They have to stop watching 'Moneyball' and purchase some decent players or the Eels will be waiting another 36 years for a premiership.

  • "Doorey has previous injuries that were bound to happen as is Hodgson."

Ummm what? Can you please translate that into English?

    • Meeik the recurrence rate of a second acl injury is around 10 to 50% in high contact sports, so buying players with these types of injuries are a great risk and somtimes not worth it. Wake up and smell the roses mate

      • that is a wide disparity in chances of recurrence there chief - from 1 in 10 to 1 in 2 - you're a gambling man, would you be happy with a 90% chance that it wont recur?

          • he had 1 at manly, they didnt resign him, then came to eels and had another one....think he hasn't had any issues since has he?

in fact he has probably been the most resilient of all our players since making his comeback.

          • So dolphin is taking one case in Gutherson to try and prove his point.  Im very glad you're not a doctor dolphin

            • there are many others too chief, but that is one that most of us can relate to....where are you cases? and did you like the odds of between 10:1  and 2:1 of a recurrence?

              • Why is it that when dolphin makes a comeback,  the rock automatically joins him. Are they joined at the hip. Or maybe joined some other way lol.

                • Maybe they're intimate lovers

                • It's like they're talking in the third person. But surely they must be one and the same, otherwise the sheer coincidence is uncanny!!
