I didn't enjoy his mistake rate but I was living with it, anyway here is an interesting summary of a news article, It centres on a conversation involving Cronk, Roach and Pitt. Sounds like more behind the scenes then I thought and gives indications why Ryles let go an Australian representative so quickly.

Looks like we are going strong on Culture and the type of motivated player to wear Blue and Gold is being re defined by Ryles. If indications are true, it's something a lot of us have been calling for , for a long time.

The fact he looked as if he'd checked out half way through the season makes ur statement moot....Lomax is a very confused human being, we have had enough of that over 40 years, good luck Zac....I'm sure Parra will thrive without you, no more the pushovers of the competition.....disaster? What a prick of a reply, he checked out halfway but still got picked for the Australian side and subsquently withdrew because he was carrying an injury (he probably could have hidden to go on the tour) he showed his character by not doing that but played on for Parra with injury.

Poppa, my source i spoke about a few weeks ago, everything they said has been true from him withdrawing from Aus team as he didn't want to go then wanting a release with the transfer fee being an issue to then going to Japan. It is only now with the Schfcofske revelation where he is not working with R360 that has thrown a spanner in the works.
But from what i was told, and the word has been spot on so far, he withdrew as he didn't want to go. If he was actually hurt then so be it but just saying i was told otherwise.
Pops/LB, Nothing not much has really changed from Schifcofske's U-Turn, seemingly afraid of the ban or costly litigation.
What's changed? Schifcofske won't negotiate with R360 "anymore" (he did) advising clients they need another agent or lawyer if they want to go to R360.
Bottom line, Lomax still might end up there. Or French Rugby? Boxing? Motorcross? Who knows.
There are only two scenarios here: Lomax has got something secretly lined up, or he's unsure what to do next lost in a fog.
But, I'd suggest since an allegedly healthy "transfer fee" was paid to our club, there's every likelihood Lomax has something secretive going on. Why he isn't being forthright over it, I'd suggest could be related to non-disclosure issues with R360 or agreements with whomever he is secretly in cohoots with. R360 has to eventually stop playing covert smoke and mirror games, and make some public announcements over the next few weeks to months.
All will be revealed in time.

A "master stroke" and "the type of guy Jason Ryles doesn't want". Maybe Lomax is very replaceable, even to the point of being unwanted, and the club isn't at fault at all in how this has been handled.
