Stone has plenty of time on the edges under his belt at the Tigers. Has transitioned to a more central role at Parra due to personnel in the 20s and Wenty but you can flex him out there if needed. I love him as a player and I think he has a future but he isn't going to give us the go forward we need right now. He plays a bit like Josh Jackson. Smaller backrower that runs hard and tough without gashing the opposition and is an incredibly technically sound defender that can lay the wood.
Marata Niukore has paid his due at Wenty and deserves the shot if Manu Ma'u is sidelined with that knee injury. Hope I don't put the mockers on him now but he has gone from strength to strength this year in an inconsistent Wenty outfit and has been 18th man for NRL a number of times now. It still doesn't fix our massive issue in the ruck since Marata is an edge player but it is something.
Too early for him to step up into the top grade. There are several senior guys and Niukore that would be in front of him. I'd select Kelepi in front of him this year.
There's a reason Kelepi starts on the bench each week, no way is he good enough for NRL. If you had the opportunity to watch Wenty regularly , then that's why
I'm not sure if you are replying to me or just making a general comment. I do watch a few Wenty games each year and regularly do critique blogs on the Wenty games (if you look through my past blogs you will see that).
Kelepi has the physicality and ability to play first grade, but does lack endurance and fitness.
Vave, O'Brien, Gower, Nelson, Niukore are all in front of Stone this year. But next year with another off season in the gym and fulltime training with the big boys might be different.
"Great blog, Poppsy!
Smith indeed is some special and I can see him defo being a rep player.
TDS has speed to burn and will crucify lazy and slow ruck defence in the last 15-20 mins. He'll target tired forwards straight down the middle. I like JR's…"
"Start Samrani either centre or wing. He smashed the sharks and the chooks. Was fast, tackle-busting and once he set his eyes on the try line it was curtains for the opposition.
I'd start him on the wing as not to disrupt Rusty and the combos set up…"

Never seen him play and don't even know what he looks like... but I know he is better than Mannah and smarter than Kenny.
Problem is he is a lock, and with Brown killing it he may struggle to get much of a go.
Can he play an edge as well??? 40 or Ham your thoughts lads???

Cheers 40, as usual an excellent contribution.
