Pre-season begin - junior overload

Pre-season began today. TCT have posted a blog about the players that were there and I am very happy to read the number of juniors that are doing pre-season training.

The following plyers were back today:

  • R Smith
  • B Simonsson
  • S Tuivita
  • J Hopgood
  • C Guymer
  • S Pryke
  • M Doorey
  • R Talagi
  • J Funa-Iuta
  • A Nanva
  • T Lokeni
  • Z Visconti
  • J Koina
  • C Petrus
  • L Fletcher
  • L Talataina
  • W Latu (rehab)
  • W Penisini (rehab)
  • I Iongi (rehab)
  • T Risati
  • C Bamblett
  • S Nunn
  • C Bloomfield
  • M Nauer
  • M Popo
  • S Polley
  • H Bell

6 SG Ball age players there.

I would have added T Beattie, J Trey-Stewart and S Sorovi if possible but I am just happy with the number of juniors there alredy to be honest.

  • Interesting that Hopgood and Doorey are not still rehabbing. Also, is that R Smith or do we also have a S Smith?

    • Its Sandon Smith.  Newcastle have 3 halves

      • This he meant B Smith ( as in ex coach). He was a half from memory

    • They shouldn't be rehabbing. Their injuries are about 7 months old, it's generally a 9 month return to play. So being out there for start of pre-season is a good sign that their rehab is on track.

    • S Smith is Smudge. He decided to recover from his neck injury with an NRL pre-season.

  • When will all those players get game time EA if Visconti, Lokeni, and T Beattie are still here?

I am happy with the junior overload but I want those juniors playing every week at least at Flegg level.
