Positive Energy

So after reading all the blogs on the front page tonight, I notice there is much negativity, much searching for new players to sign and much general disappointment about the way our season has gone.

This makes me sort of sad - not because any of these opinions are unjustified, but simply because it's all just a little big negative.

This is a blog to make me feel better and I would really appreciate it if as many positive responses could be given as possible. I am going to charge you all with the job of picking one player in our team and explaining to the rest of the forum what makes them so fantastic.

I'll start and I pick Ben Smith.

For me, Ben Smith epitomises everything I love about Parramatta and why I am so very proud to be a Parramatta supporter.

He is an underdog and a toiler who gives his all 100% every week and we desperately miss him when he is not there. He has proved to be a mentor to many of the younger players coming through and he always has a smile on his face.

Ben Smith makes me proud to support Parramatta. He is a genuine nice guy and I rate Ben a 10 out of 10.

Can you all help make me feel better and tell me more about our wonderful players?

  • For me: Hindmarsh. He can no longer attack as he once could but he is always there, when the team needs that cover defender he is there, when the team needs that last ditch effort to knock the ball out of the hand of a player as he is about to score, he is there. He plays 80mins he busts his ass for the team. He is the sort of bloke you would walk into any battle with because he would have your back and would stand by your side, I respect him, i admire him. (Oh and he loves Harley Davidson bikes so he has great taste as well)
  • Hindmarsh hugged me once and it was the best day of my life. Everytime I have seen the bloke he has always been more then happy for a chat.

I will be naming my first son after him.
  • Every Player That Has a real go CONSISTENTLY

No Individuals, a team Player !

    Oh and YOU TINKS !!!!
  • My Bob and George! Thanks so much for replying to my thread. You have me smiling already.

And might I commend you on your choice of 'player that makes you smile'.

Sir Nathan Hindmarsh is also another player that makes me proud to be a Parramatta fan. A true legend of the game and they don't make them like him anymore. Always there for his team and his mates. A true inspiration to our team and our club.

And Parramatta Terminator - I love you too! :-) :-) Thanks for the awesome compliment.
  • lol really? thats really cute, and nathans a nice name.
  • Justin Poore- now that he's settled in Parra he puts his heart in every game. He tries really hard and always has a smile on his face. I haven't yet met him but id love to as everyone that has says he is a wonderful and genuine bloke.
  • I have been waiting for someone to bring up Justin Poore.

A lovelier and gentler man you could not find anywhere Parraeels12.

I have met him and know that he is very sensitive and a confidence player. The negative criticism he got earlier in the year really rattled him. Now, whenever I see him I am sure to build him up and it does wonders for him.

He loves our club so much and improved so dramatically throughout the season. He always has time for a chat and has the biggest smile on his face all the time!

Here is another player that makes me proud to support the Eels.

'Let's all roar for Justin Poore'!!
  • i think tom humble hopefully gets more games
  • Moi Moi, he fires up on the regular and when he plays well we win, simple!!!! he launches his frame into opposition defences on Tackle 1 & 2 on regular monotony and hits hard also a truly positive player who has been one of our best front rowers since Deano Pay and the Great Bob O' Reilly, I love his style of play.
  • I meant I'm naming him hindmarsh.....

Lol only joking. Nathan is a great name.
