Fickleness.....changeability, especially as regards one's loyalties or affections.
Parramatta is a stronger team with Dyllan Brown playing in it than him not.
I am as disappointed as much as anyone in the way this seems to have been handled, but I am coming around to this "only as a big deal in the minds" of our "culture conscience" supporters, not the ones that want to win a premiership. If you want to win a premiership you should all be praying that we manage to keep him. The circumstances will stand as long as we are successful.
Essentially I am saying we don't always really care about the club, only the image it presents to suit our loyalties or fickleness. They say "fame lasts 15 minutes" how long fickleness?
I did see this with Moses (now seemingly a golden child) but watch the turnaround on here if he does a Drown, 6 months ago Gutherson was a hero, now he is a broken old man, an atrocious past leader and basically glad we got rid of the bum! BA was a hopeless bastard!
Being a supporter has just as much "fickleness" than any player we have given the recognised level of success we hope to achieve.

Maybe fickleness isnt the right word Pops from a supporters perspective. I think myself and like many on here want to field the best team with the right mindset for the club and supporters and that many are just fed up with the rudderless leadership we've endured.
I agree, parra is a better team with DB and it would be interesting to see how the next two years go with a new coach at the helm. All signs point to the positive, but if the whole team arent going to buy in, then let him chase a payday.
Gone are the days of blind loyalty, and I think many fans are just mirroring what they see from the players themselves
Thank you Seraph, I edited this blog about 6 times from the time I first published it (all over about a 2 minute period) looking to get the balance right.
I think you have explained it well and I cannot subjectively argue with your personal point of view. That's what makes a discussion worthwhile.
Thanks for your approach.
Agree, we need to put the pitchforks away and let it play out and stop deathriding him.
We'll be fine either way, but we will be stronger with Dylan at 5/8 with Moses at 7. They're the best halves pairing in the comp, or second behind Munster & Hughes. If we have them on the field together we'll make the finals.
If we do lose him, I don't know if there are many great options to chase even if it does free up a chunk of money.
Thanks for your honesty Clint, these views are always subjective but we do have a supporter base that realistically could be classified as "pretty fickle".
I have changed my views nearly every day on this "saga" but some of the things being said are I think the result of fake news and "egging" on, a view which is "probably" pretty common in our society.
I have already been accused of changing my tune repeatedly on lots of things, I think if my thinking was locked into the first opinion I make I would find it hard to participate in any discussion.
I am wrestling at the moment with Sam Kerr's exercise and Trump wanting to take over Gaza, my initial views on these subjects have changed multiple times as I listen to the "rhetoric" ..... my view at present is wait for some facts or just stay away and observe from a distance.
How's that/this not an example of my "indecisivness" LOL
Looking at it from Ryles perspective.
Your first off season as head coach , with one of your star players , a rep player and member of the spine who should be driving the clubs standards has with his management disrupted the off season , upset the fan base , created negative publicity for the club with potential to affect the bottom line.
Instead of focussing on dragging the club back into finals contention he's visiting opposition clubs consumed with his own contract talks.
Doesn't sound like each way Brown has bought into what Ryles is trying to achieve here does it.
In my view, any player not bought in doesn't play first grade.
Dylan should be given an ultimatum, if he hasn't signed by 9/02/25 the day of our trial against the knights and a month out from season start he's free to go to a club in 25 as he won't be considered for first grade.
As a coach I doubt after this garbage Ryles is willing to invest a lot into Dylan's future at the Eels he's showed him who he is as a man.
The club first culture that he's trying to cultivate doesn't allow for the actions of brand Brown and his management.
I expect him gone, this drama would have went over like a lead balloon within the Eels coaching ranks. Damage is done.
Face value undeniable Bup, but I am questioning the way the thing has gone over.
Listening to the rhetoric at the training level, there seems no doubt he is committed to the team and its schedule. The contrary to this is why he has not come out and said something to defend his position, likewise Ryles has made no comments or statements either. I have raised all those issues in the various change of opinions that I have personally had.
I guess now that I should sit back and see the next development. I obviously want him to stay in the lowest management effect on the season that is possible.
I have no doubt we are a stronger team with DB's inclusion. If we are ultimately effected by this the way you are implying then we are in deep shit and the whole process has been a disaster. If things change for the better the point of this blog with regard to "fickleness" will certainly come into its own.
Let me intinerate that these are just opinions at this point, I have no actual knowledge of what may or may not happen sitting in my "ivory tower" in Brisbane.
There's no doubt as a professional Dylan would be meeting his obligations club wise.
Browns a good footballer if he spent more of his downtime doing extras and picking the brains of the games former 5/8s he'd easily become that franchise player his management said he was but know he's not.
Browns last played for Parra on the 6th of September, his management were able to open negotiations Nov 1st yet they wait until January to destabilise the club.
The tactic was to extort more money from the Eels by applying pressure, Brown at that stage had little interest in going elsewhere.
Since then , the landscape seems to have changed.
Brown and his management have been called out, there's not a lot of outside interest.
Browns upset the Eels stakeholders and now after starting out this calamity feeling in a position of strength he's starting to realise what his place in the rugby league universe really is.
If he stays with the Eels which looks further away every day he's done damage to his image when it comes to any outside sponsorships, the fans , the playing group and the coaching staff.
Fans can be fickle no doubt, fans have invested a lot of time and money into their club of choice they get frustrated when players themselves don't invest.
It's why fan favourites or cult hero's are often toilers who give there all not always the flashy .
Pricey and Hindy are prime examples.
Either way this drama needs to come to a close quickly .
Yep!
If you are "Listening to the rhetoric" you become prone to "parroting the rhetoric."
Bup, is very good judge and I have very high respect of his football judgements Randolph, you should listen to what he says and not dismiss it as rhetoric because you have no knowledge of the subject.
