Forgive me, I need to get this off my chest!

Yes the cattle is a problem, we knew that in probably every game we have won this year, just the same! I am/was devastated last night, the effort against Titans was probably a low point of the season ......so far?     BUT I actually saw some effort in last nights game !!!!.....that's why it hurts more than normal after a loss. Yes I know people will laugh at that but what I cannot accept is the execution....lack of focus and the giving up of the ball

......The inability to realise with Melb making so many errors, there was a real opportunity to beat them. Even at 10 - 4 after half time and us butchering 2 tries in 5 minutes, we could still win this game with 20 minutes to go!

Now Melb were atrocious as well, I said to my wife that Bellamey must be thanking god his team was playing Parramatta.

I can get over most things Parramatta and have made horrible statements about them in the past, but there was something special in that game....a new level of ineptness, not courage or passion, just a junior team making errors that confounds me. I think I am writing this blog to purge myself.....I think we hit a new low.....I can only imagine what Ryles and his staff must think, like, its not like it was bad coaching, you couldn't coach a side to drop balls, miss tackles and position themselves as badly as they did.

Player's that excelled previously like Volkman and TDS showed why they are fringe players, I have no doubt now that we will see Pezet back in the side ahead of Volkman. Volkman only has to look in the mirror with a lot of his mates if they ever manage to be honest with themselves about being First Grade Footballers.

Oh! Parra, why have you forsaken us! LOL..... there are worse things of course...... to our knowledge no one died in that game, but you never can be sure if we lost a few supporters during it!

I know a few old blokes up in heaven who would be pretty grumpy this morning.

  • The cattle problem (squad composition) has been getting progressively worse since we made the GF all those years ago. And our results have followed suit.

It was decided by the powers that be that BA was the problem. Yet here we are several years later talking about the same thing.

If BA was the problem, is the issue now that Ryles wasn't the solution? Or are there other problems left unaddressed?

Squad changes seem to have changed the fortune of Canberra and the Dogs for the negative. And the Knights and (recent games aside) the Tigers for the positive.

    So many questions...so few answers.

    • Yes Cappy, I was venting rather than solving

This a post I just made on another blog which gives me more a positive fixing mode LOL

We do not need any scapegoats, just players looking in the mirror and comparing their reflection with what the coaching staff need and think of them.

I would love  this Parra team playing touch football against an elite Touch team, yes for the aerobics and skils, but also in understanding what's needed to be an athlete, on top what they think of themselves in the skils of the game. Last night showed up that the speed of the game was beyond them.....Storm were no better, but they actually had speed and power.....Parra in the main does not qualify the same way.....JAC, MM, and Joash were the only one's actually capable of the requirement....maybe TDS on a good day. Even a player like Samrani was basically shown up in that sense as well......MM is actually playing to twice the speed of his team mates. He can do this apparently without making anything but the odd error wheras his mates just cannot keep up with the speed of execution.

To view this differently, did we or do we have one player that could "rip" like some of the opposition we play every week. Junior is probably the only forward last night who actually bent the line, maybe Mateole? very briefly Moretti and there is not a running power player that can run off Dylan Walker, who all of a sudden seems impotent.....happens when there is no one to get it up for you!

  • With youth comes inconsistency and as we go deeper into the season the match to match grid this unfortunately is only going to get worse esp with Mitch at Origin.   I have said in another blog hard work beats talent everday of the week, but maybe this is the ceiling for most of these players and their ceiling is a good quality NSW cup player and thats it.

So where does that leave us with 14 rounds to go ...well battling for the spoon.

I hope that there are movements after Nov 30 with key elite signings...nothing more to say...
