This might appear as a really dumb question and excuse my ignorance but in regards to player Salaries how are their salaries paid.
In normal 40hr week jobs we get our wages either weekly, fortunately or monthly. We have our allocated sick leave days, superannuation and holidays per year.
How are Rugby League players paid? Do they get their contract amount all up front? Or is per week, fortunately or monthly? Do they have allocated sick days, superannuation? Do they get paid while sick or injured? Do they get extra bonuses like State of Origin, Rep games, etc... Do they lose any salary for indiscretions etc..

Majority these days are paid quarterly. This is why clubs may hold out before signing a player and why it sometimes takes so long for a player to be released. A lot of teams wait for the quarterly payment
For NRL contracted players I have no idea how often they're paid. However they get paid throughout the length of their contract, not a lump sum.
They don't have "sick days" as such but they do get paid when sick and injured. They get bonuses for playing rep football. That's paid by the organisation they're representing, so the NSWRL pays the fees, not the NRL club.
Most clubs have a fine system policed by the playing group. If they are given an official fine by the club or NRL then they do lose pay.
If you're a top level NRL player you don't lose money for being dropped. But you do if you're a reserve grade player who is only getting match payments when they play NRL.
They also have contracted minimum holidays as part of their CBA which I believe is 6 weeks. Players can choose to return earlier if they wish but clubs can't force them to return early.
I worked with a few players who have played recently my understanding
Monthly pay
Super same as everyone
Contributions to players union.
Some clubs have financial planners/accountants to guide the players in terms tax etc
That being said I believe quarterly happens as well.
The contract year starts from end of October
paid on the 1st of every month
