Here is a story. If it happens yeah i agree with some that is the first Ryles decision where i am questioning what the hell is going on, goes against his idea of the future. It stifles Papali'i if he is to be the 6 in 2027, i mean if it was say DCE i could say ok he can help develop Joash and Lorenzo coming through. But as Poppa mentions he is technically a rookie in starting terms. Makes no sense to let him develop with us then send him to Brisbane. Unless there is something in it where we get one of their players? Who knows. As of now there cannot be a justification to this signing that makes sense for us where we are in our progression in the rebuild.
Totally agree, we are a stepping stone for the Broncos. I hope he stays in Melbourne, I don't want to see him in our colours, you want to commit you commit. Anasta must be getting a lot out of this rubbish
Pezet to start the season and slowly bring Joash back in, once he has some game time at 6 under his belt in NSW Cup. That's the blueprint with Brown too. That would be the best scenario for a developing player, and allows Joash to fine-tune his game in an environment that takes a lot of the pressure away. A 1 year contract would come fairly cheaply, as it's clear Pezet wants to play FG. An offer the club could not refuse. A win-win.
Very valid point Tin Tim. A big question mark if Ryles really agreed to this. Is this still a part of the Eels future? It seems dubious for us guys looking from the outside. Ryles had so far made good player selections, I hope he continues with his good record for his sake and ours.

It ain't all doom and gloom bro 😂 we using Pezet just as much as he's using us. Lorenzo has to be ready for nrl physicality can't just throw him into it. Buying time for him

Using us for what reason when we wanted to sign him long term and are rebuilding well ?? He could be part of all that long term. Is it coz we not good enough?? Is it coz Brisbane is his home?? There is no valid reason accept his own development and moving on thereafter!
"Pop, we are making assumptions that Pezet is no prodigy whereas Grant is. The Tigers did not know that at the time and we have no idea what Pezet will bring.
Let's not forget about the last Storm halfback that was held back by better players ahead…"
"15 games for Joash but your point is well taken . Why we would allow ourselves to get screwed over by a reserve grader is beyond me. Still hope that the deal does not go through yet."
"You are telling me I should support a different team because I think this signing, if true, is a really bad one? About 80% of posters here think its a bad deal for us. Go to the open forums and its higher still.
Im hoping we save some dignity and…"

I ask this.... why did Ryles drop Brown during the year because he wasn't part of our future. And now we have this? What's the difference?
Very fair point. Only way a one year deal would be acceptable if it was for say DCE to help Joash and/or Lorenzo.
