BM, this is not about Lorenzo or any other aspiring 5/8's.
For reasons that some do not understand is that Pezet himself is a rookie.
What effect do you think it would have on the aspiring 5/8's/ Halves and any developing player in the club to watch us do that....they could all take the view that they can leave the club as soon as they establish themselves.
The point was made to Brown this year (by Ryles) past that he will only have limited opportunities owing to the fact that he will not be here next year!
How does this sound to you.....its not a situation that happened with Grant on loan from Storm for 12 months and then returning to same because Cameron Smith was getting near retirement. Grant was a prodigy.....Pezet is no "prodigy".
I think you are confusing the practicals with facts. Conceptionally you agreeing with this because you see logic but not the damage it can do.
Pop, we are making assumptions that Pezet is no prodigy whereas Grant is. The Tigers did not know that at the time and we have no idea what Pezet will bring.
Let's not forget about the last Storm halfback that was held back by better players ahead of him. How did Brodie Croft turn out?
In my view, Joash has yet to convince me and Lorenzo is not ready. If Pezet is fantastic, who knows where we finish up next season. If he's the next Brodie Croft, the Broncos have an extremely expensive white elephant. And, if Pezet is a complete dud, he'll be playing reserves and Joash will get his shot. You say Pezet's recruitment must mean that Joash (and others) feel disenfranchised. What if they look at it as a learning opportunity, one to improve their game and to compete for their spot? Why didn't Riley Smith kick rocks when we signed the supposed next great number 9 in TDS?
My point is, 95% of contributors to these Pezet threads are only considering the worst case scenarios. There are positives and I honestly see those to be greater than the negatives.
I have conceded that if Pezet is to be a gun, our club will effectively be a training laboratory for the ultimate benefit of the Broncos - and I think that concept leaves a bad taste in all our mouths. But, what I think is more likely is he fulfills a short term requirement for our club whilst we continue to develop the junior talent we've been yearning for, and who ultimately ply their trade for our club long-term rather than for others. In my book, that's a win-win.
Let's just watch this space before declaring, like Chicken Little, that the sky is fallng down!
I agree, if Lorenzo is the future just throw him in and let him swim like he did this year. Yeah Lorenzo is raw and not ready but he will be going into a good environment under a coach who seems to be very patient.
I would not throw Lorenzo in. Persist with Joash and give Lorenzo a few games in nsw cup. Last year his nsw cup team was horrendous by the time he made the jump up as we had players injured, in nrl or loaned.
I don't wanna hear bullshit defending this signing, this is a rort and mockery of the club. If us fans aren't pissed we should be, Pezet is a talent yet we are getting used by him and his manager so the y can fuck off to the broncos. So sick of this shit and bad decision making from our club im over it.

But you'd also be pissed if we signed Pezet long term and then Lorenzo walked out on us 😭 just trust the process bro

You cannot trust the process unless you believe in it Eli.
As for Parrafan 101, it seems that you have an indelible chip on your shoulder about the club with nothing proving your rantings other than journalistic speculation.
Why don't you hold onto your "wad" because there are only so many ways of blowing it!
"JAC and Penisini extended.
From the rest of the list it depends on how they develop but i'd extend Russell & Guymer and give Walker and Paulo reduced 1-year contracts
I'd keep Papalii if he's keen to be a backup fullback"
"Sick of this shit, we were a joke over nepotism from our previous coach. Now we have a coach that does favours for his mates.
I love what ryles has done this year, but this signing stinks. I pray and hope that we have signed a luke metcalf or…"

We could buy a forward for a year with Pezet cap.

Well, you know where the door is, and not one of us will try and stop you from walking out of it.
