Pezet most likely staying at the Storm

Michael Chammas mentioned this morning that Papenhuyzen has played his last game for the Storm and that they want to play Pezet at 5/8, shifting Munster to fullback.

I don't see Pezet leaving if there is a 5/8 spot open at the Storm, opposed to the Eels

Talataina it is then

  • There is a lot of talk Bellamy off to Gold Coast, with this weird clause of Hannay reniging his job to go back to be an assistant how he agreed to that i will never know, but perhaps the direction to the older players will cease and Munster leaves to Perth.

I will say Munster to 1 will not work well for Melbourne, Brisbane showed them what speed can do. Fa'alogo surely is the new Fullback.

    • I'd be shocked if Bellamy risked his super coach reputation by going to a club where he'd have to prove himself .

      • Well i am more surprised that if true, Hannay would be dumb enough to allow a clause in his deal to move as an assistant if Bellamy moves there. I mean firstly, shows great faith to Hannay in that they want him unless someone else is available. How can he set up for the future if the players don't know who is coaching and if Bellamy wants those players?

Plus agreeing to that deal, how long would Bellamy coach for? He would have a similar deal like at Melbourne where it is a 10 year type deal where it rolls over every year as a option. So he can endlessly just decide to coach forever. So Hannay could be waiting when better just staying at Cronulla.

    • That was based on him buying a property on the Gold Coast. It could be an investment property, or just an early retirement plan for the next couple of years. Bellamy has been saying for a few years that he wants to retire and almost certainly would leave Melbourne to do so.

Agreed on Munster to fullback. He just becomes average at best in that position. I reckon they would gladly show him the door if the opportunity arises so they can rebiuld with younger players. Pezet knows this and is biding his time. I reckon all this talk of him leaving is just his agent trying to boost his price.

      • Well reports were he had meetings with them last year. Bellamy has always said he would go back to Queensland. Brisbane won a comp with Madge so Bellamy wont go there. Then Dolphins have Woolf, he could go behind the scenes there. NQ i reckon would be too far as his family are mainly in Brisbane.

        GC makes sense.

        • I think he has a few properties up here, this was just the latest acquisition. Can see him moving into a HOF role at the Storm and commuting a few days when needed. He can do everything else remotely these days over Zoom. Just can't see him anywere else.

          • Melbourne said they are happy for him to move and work remotely. Of course they would be who wouldn't.

  • This guy's more in MONs abilities , desperate for a club .   Our very own " hammer "

    • ryles going back to the storm after bellamy maybe :)

      • I am so fascinated what they do there. Do they go in house, legend or start a fresh.

Slater being mentioned, as has been Smith. I don't think they take it. Bretnall, Lowrie, Hinchcliffe are the assistants, neither held a HC post before in NRL, only Bretnall in holden cup.

I reckon Willie Peters will get a look in.
