The Parramatta Eels are pleased to announce that rising talent Teancum Brown has been upgraded to a development contract for the 2026 season, and an NRL contract extension for the 2027 and 2028 seasons.
Brown joined the Eels in 2024 in the Club’s Jersey Flegg squad and has since demonstrated steady improvement, and a commitment to developing his all-round game.
General Manager of Football Mark O’Neill praised Brown’s recent form and commitment to improvement.
“Teancum thoroughly deserves this opportunity. He has worked incredibly hard during the pre-season which impressed his teammates and coaches.” O’Neill said. “Teancum has a good engine for a big man, loves to compete and he displayed a level of confidence in the trial matches which he can take into the season ahead."
The development contract in 2026 will allow Brown to continue training full-time within the NRL system, gaining valuable experience alongside the Club’s senior squad. His upgraded deal through 2028 reflects the Eels’ long-term belief in his potential and the role he can play at NRL level in the coming seasons.

Haha yes I have the receipt. I should ask for a job lol
Any other hidden gems about to burst on the scene? SG Ball seem to be flying at the moment. I'm trying to keep my eye on Koina. Hoping he can make the next step being a son of a former player and a qlder.
Cameron Bamblett and Chris Petrus. Bamblett has played fullback/five-eighth and was the Australian schoolboys fullback last year. We pinched him from Penrith.
Chris Petrus is a barnstorming backrower and turned the match last week when he came off the bench.
Bamblett will probably leave soon. His path to NRL is blocked at eels
Yea keep your eye on him. I made a bold prediction that he will play nrl before Talagi.
EA do you rate Koina over Talagi? The talk I've seen around Talagi is he might be a tad bit overrated yet Koina has received nothing but praise.
I wouldn't say Talagi is overrated. Handling nsw cup as an 18 year old forward is very impressive. Plus Talagi is not your X factor type forward. I just rate Koina more
To me, Talagi seems sluggish. Has those slow muscles like his brother. Hopefully other parts of his game will develop and make up for it. Still only young though...
This TC Brown is a real goer. Looks to have a huge motor and always looking for some work.
Where do you see Koina ending up if he makes it? Lock or 2nd row? What current player in the NRL would you compare him to?
EA, Can you bring us up to date from where Nrown arrive from? Junior pathways? NZ?
