A friend of mine is opening a Parramatta Eels Museum, on display will be rare artefacts and never seen photos. More details on location and and grand opening will be posted soon, below are some of the items on display.
A never seen photo of Tim Manah taken shortly after his first night with his wife on his honeymoon. Tim has no hard feeling towards his new bride, after holding out on her for four years, he knew his first love making session would be a little rough. The photo was given to the Parramatta Eels Museum by the paramedics who treated Tim at the scene.
The Ford once owned by Eric Grothe senior, the car was discovered in a police compound 31 year after being impounded. The interior still smelt of petrol, NSW police kindly donated the car to the Parramatta Eels Museum.
Peter Sterling's wig modelled by museum director John Perry, the wig was donated to the museum by John Muggleton who acquired the wig from his sister and former wife of Peter Sterling.
Peter Sterling stopped wearing the wig in 2001 after doctors told him the glue holding the wig in place was causing him toxic poisoning.
A very rare picture of Melanie Stevens who famously sued the club for becoming obese. Melanie joined the Eels cheer leading squad in 1987 at the age of 16 and was forced to quit in 1996, she was fit and healthy before joining.
Melanie claimed that the lack of cheering and being forced to watch the team play every week led her to binge eat. The case was settled out of court for an undisclosed amount of McDonald vouchers. Melanie now entertains in car parks. The photo was kindly donated by her husband, Frankie Fong.
Billy Rogers wax figure, this life size wax figure was left behind by Stephen Kearney in his former West Pennant Hills home. Kearney devised a plan to invent a player and accept his contact money by fooling the club that Billy Rogers was a real player. The scandal was kept from the media, Kearney agreed to leave the club with a year remaining on his contract to avoid prosecution. The wax figure was kindly donated by Kearney's former land lord.
A never seen medical bill from Lee Mossop, this bill is one of 3 that will be on display at the Parramatta Eels Museum. Lee has broken an all time record for the most money spent in the least amount of time on medical bills. We hope his new body is serving him well.
Michael Cronin's eyeball, in an unfortunate accident, Mark Laurie poked out Cronin's eyeball during a regular season match. Very few know that Cronin had a glass eye implanted, his real eye was never found.
The mystery is now solved, Mark Laurie put the eye in his pocket after scooping it out and has kept it in his freezer for 29 years. The Parramatta Eels Museum is grateful to Mark for donating such a historical artefact.
Trophy cabinet purchased in 1987, at the time of purchase the Eels had a number of local juniors with potential coming through the lower grades, the club felt it needed a new trophy cabinet.
The cabinet has never been opened and remains in as new condition. Roy Spagnolo attempted to sell the cabinet on Ebay however failed. Steve Sharp has loaned the Cabinet to the Parramatta Eels Museum until the Eels win their next comp. They expect to have the cabinet for a while.
The Parramatta Eels Museum relies on donations, if you have anything of interest you wish to donate, please post on this blog. A representative of the museum will contact you.

LOLLL well done Joe, love your work
Mares threw the failed cocktail, Grothe owned the car.
Mares was out injured at the time, I remember video footage Mares trying to get away from the media on crutches. Grothe employed Mares to take the car and burn it. Witnesses at the time identified Mares as the man who threw the failed cocktail and the plan turned to sh*t.
Hahaha Joe brilliant mate. One of your best.
