          • Why would they do that MTD, where woud you play him in 2027, say Blaize is on 450, Penrith contract runs out end 27 but they could /would be prepared to let him go this year to whatever club they want to release him to.

We would be getting no favours by Penrith. Every club that played against Penrith had a chance knowing that Blaize was a defensive turnstyle at Penrith as a 5/8. He would be worse as a centre defensively and let me tell you we would not have a Cleary or the defensive structure Penrith have in protecting him!

            Absolute suicide!

PS You realise he did not physically make a break in that Penrith team, he runs good lines, he backs up and passes beautifully, but he doesn't make breaks!

          • Well I think they might but what's the point if he doesn't play in 2027?

            • Yep agree, who would buy him under those circumstances. I assume that penrith pay for his ongoing rehab as well.

  • Maybe Junior is our back up fullback/centre/winger.

Because I hate what I see in this list.

    • Middles are coming out of our ears. Backs? dear lord.

  • Looks like we've sorted our middles, they look pretty good long term and were our biggest problem. Now the backline looks thin so I'd imagine there will be some moves still to happen. I'm guessing

    - JAC sacked / extended for '28 on a reduced salary
    - Joash moved on
    - We're a good shot at getting Howarth after his brother signed with us
    - Wouldn't be surprised if the dogs move Burton on for '27 and we should have the cap space
    - Thought we might get either Blaize or Tago but that's now unlikely
    - The really big backline signing won't come till '28 - we're a good shot at Bradman Best, especially if Burton doesn't come.

We should have the cap space for all of that but the backline still looks short on depth. That's partly because the juniors coming through weren't as good as the forwards, there's no Teancum Brown type future stars breaking through yet.
