Dylan Brown and his management have gone to Parramatta asking for a financial incetive to wipe the first clause in his deal, with the club not budging saying they are not offering him more than what he is currently on. I take this as Brown is open to staying at Parramatta as why ask for an incentive when you can just go elsewhere? Anyway just a new power play by Brown and Orr. Ryles might have replied "What do you and Gutho have in common? If you keep going you will find out".

Dyl has a contract with the Eels, if the club wants to change the terms than he has every right to ask for a bonus otherwise leave it as it is. The player option isn't Brown's ****up its the club's

He can go. He is a centre pretending to be a 5/8 anyway. He should be thankful he's on 5/8 money. Plenty of young ones can step up, even Lomax. The club will have close to $1m to spend on a real no.6.
Brown also had a contract not to get arrested and charged with sex crimes. Did we ask him to take a paycut when he couldn't play ? It goes both ways . Whilst I agree he is under no legal obligation to change it for us, but that doesn't mean he's not morally bankrupt and we shouldn't call him out on it. Considering history he's fair game.
But yeah , you're correct he has a contract , and that's the clubs fault.
Just go. So thirsty to squeeze a couple of extra hundred K a year out of the club. Using media contacts to create bullshit stories is just distasteful.
Already on massive overs as a second fiddle halfback. Im glad they are standing up to these BS games.
Just go!

Yep see you Dyl you dill
Oh ffs the club agreed to the terms of his contract and they want it changed!!! I can't see why anyone wouldn't see that if they want it changed then there ought to be an incentive to the other party!!
club clearly and stupidly don't want him to re-sign
he is coming into his best years now and finally has some decent players around him.
where are you gonna buy an exp 5/8th as good as brown and finally coming into his best years for his money that wants to come to parra
Dream on!
You say that the club want it changed. But no where has that been reported or been said by the club. The club if we are being fair stated they wanted a decision on Dylans contract option by the stipulated round 10 this year. They have further clarified that they will not offer him more "after being requested by Dylans management" to have that clause removed. The club have been firm. Say yes or no to your option by round 10. If we are to fault the club it should be the intital contract and inserting those clauses in the first instance.
Im not sure how many people know, but the club is in quite negotiations with Moses to pay him extra to remove his furture clauses. This is being conducted in what appears to be a professional way by all parties. It is quietly getting done in the background without media, without fingerpointing and without fuss. Congrats to those involved. I was thinking of another blog in relation to this but at this stage its being conducted professionally.
Dylan and his management have had since November 1 to go to market, they chose to wait till a couple of weeks ago. WHY is a great question. What changed. Dylan and by extension his management have turned a normal option clause to resign or move elsewhere into an absolute circus with half truths and miss truths galore. It would appear so that he can get a few extra $K from the Eels. Its ruining Dylans standing with fans, and bluntly Dylan is being portrayed as a financial whore in this saga. Time for new management perhaps for Dylan.
As for comming into his best years, some might say about bloody time.
Hey Blue Eel the club definitely wanted their contract with him changed here's one report Jan 15
"The Eels have been speaking with his manager Chris Orr for several months in an attempt to remove the options from his contract, however, they haven’t been able to reach a resolution with his manager looking to test the market."
obviously the club didn't want to pay more then Dylan's inept crew went cracra with how they conducted it further. Still they got attention and what they wanted.
thing is that option was all about renegotiating his value and what we want to pay.
we've decided that 900k for the next few years is all we want to pay. Don't agree myself as if we thought 900 was ok a couple of years back at age 22 we definitely should go 1-200k more for one of our best. In a couple of years salary cap will increase and 1.1 is not over the top for one of the games best 5/8ths. Ideally we ought not have been happy to give what we did back in '22 but we did ...it is our contract terms that we want to get out of simple. Boo-boo on our and BAs part back then.
agree with you his management is shit and I'm guessing prob wanting to loosen up Dylan's contract in time for Perth (BA) nrl entrance.
maybe everyone needs to remember what he has been surrounded with and perhaps his instructions under same previous coach his whole career and with an extremely dominant half back partner. Moses want exactly fab younger than 24 either
