Parra's discussions with Matt Orford might have fallen through with the former priemership halback wanting a reportably $ 400,000 for a three year deal plus the transfer fee of $ 200,000 Kearney has hinted in a previous interview that parra will sit down with other halfback hopefuls outside our current team but kearney wasnt giving anything away about who those options are. Fox Sports news are reporting that Orford/Parra dicussions have fallen through Canberra have apprantley moved on towards signing sharks half Scott Porter.
Like i said in this interview Kearney has given nothing away about who we are chasing in 2011 for a halback but at the moment it looks like we will have to make do with what we have got right now and its not like we are short of options just short of good options.
I am determined to have a combination of (6. Daniel Mortimer 7. Cameron Breust)
I was once opon a time wanting Matt Orford at the club anyway we could possibly could but sitting down thinking about it i have seen the light releasing that Orford is not as good as he was he is possibly a bit overated by himself if he wants $ 400,000 from us even though we have the money we would be wasting a good $ 120,000 on this guy.
Now it looks like Parra/Canberra have fallen out with Orford it looks as if he will stay in Bradford and play out his contract shows what wanting to much money gets you.
Cameron Bruest in the wave of the future just look at his rap sheet so far:
Under 18’s NSW Catholic Country
ACT Schoolboys
Under 18’s NSW Country Schoolboys
The kid has potenial sure he is only 19 ( so was Tim Smith around that age) but he is a genuine halfback thats what we need his Canberra U20s coach said Cameron best attribute is his ability to handle pressure.
Watching footage of him well he has my vote
There is still a minimal chance that Orford could find his way here but with a significant decrese in what he wants to be paid i reckon $ 280,000 - $ 300,000 or piss off.
There is Footage of Bruest tranning with parra on Fox sports

But Bruest should have first shot
Pinning your hopes on a rookie halfback who hasn't played much Toyota Cup yet is the very definition of naive!!
The kid has one more season of illegibility for Toyota Cup, where he hasn't even debuted yet. The best halves coming out of that comp were debuting at 17 and playing first grade by 18 or 19 i.e Sandow, Lui, Foran, Barba, Morts etc.
I'm not going to say that Bruest isn't good enough to play first grade, he may be a late maturer but to say he should be our starting half next year is just retarded. Murray has played 3 seasons of TC and has proven to be one of the better halves from the last season, so his credentials tower above what Bruest has achieved and I dar say Murray will be lucky to play 1st grade next season.
You have to look at it logically mate.
As for Bruest, I am not going to comment on his talents or potential but the kid hasn't even played in the NYC, right? Brad Murray would be a more suitable option if that's the case (providing we go with a young half).
