NZ- Inu

This may be old news to people on here, however I was just flicking through today's paper and read that Stephen Kearney has opted to field 19 year old Keiran Foran, who is a five-eigth, in the centres for tonights test against the pom's.They say that Stephen Kearney is one of the best up and coming coaches in the Business, and its hard to argue considering he has been assistant coach at one of the best club sides of all time, and managed to win a world cup with an understrength Kiwi side. But honestly to select Foran over Inu, who had been absolutely killing it over the last 2 months of the nrl season, is an absolute joke.Firstly I found it odd that Kearney initially didn't have Inu in his starting 17, considering Steve Matai' injuries and form this season, aswell as Junior Sau struggling to hold down a first grade spot at Newcastle. But fair enough he chose them and have both played admirably, but now with Matai out of contention surely you bring an in form quality centre, especially when the Pommy backline struggled to contain Inglis last week, who Inu plays similarly too..Inu got his first crack at international football after playing one 1st grade game, played at fullback which isn't his preffered position, and he played great against a strong Aussie team. From then i thought that he was going to be something special for us and NZ. Yet now 2 years down the track, he still can't get a run in an average looking Kiwi backline.I feel sorry for Kris, I remember reading a quote from him during his 1st season on what it meant for him to choose to play internationally for NZ as he was illegible for Aus as well through residency. He said it was a hard decision as he would have loved to have been able to play Origin, but his heart was with NZ and thought it was an even greater honour to pull on the Kiwi jersey.Well now the country he has sacraficed for is treating him like garbage. If I were him, i'd refuse to play for NZ anymore, change my allegiance to Samoa, and help a country to improve as a Footballing nation, because obviously NZ don't think that Krisnan Inu can help them improve.Disgrace.

  • Better than a Toyota Cup player, surely.
  • i figured it all out. kearney knows eels will be the biggest threat to storm next year , so by not putting inu in the side kearney thinks it will hurt inus confidence so he doesnt play well next year, i know it sounds crazy but its the only thing i can think of lol
    • if he was truely worried about us beating them he woulda played Inu as a prop and made sure he got hammered :P lol
  • Well I was proven to have the correct opinion, again! :P

Young Foran was completely out of his depth, honestly Inu would have made a massive difference to that team. Forans defensive reading was poor, and the Kiwis lacked an attacking threat out wide which Inu would have brought. Oh well thats what you get Mr Kearney.
  • Yep you were spot on, seriously a disgraceful decision and he got what he deserved. I
  • Why did kearney pick Inu to tour ???...not to play him is a total waste of cost, time & effort... very poor decision ...maybe it was a good thing we didn't sign him as coach.....
  • Strange strange decision not to play Inu... simple as that

    But I totally disagree with

Spiting the dummy helps nobody.... players need to learn to stand and fight when the going get's tough... not try and bail every time they are dropped
    • He hasn't been dropped, he hasn't even been given a go.

Inu is better than Goodwin, Perrett, Soliola, Sau, Foran and on form Matai.

How he couldn't get a run infront of any of them is a joke. It must be either an attitude problem or Kearney just isn't personally a fan. All i know is Inu deserves to be playing International Football regardless of whether it is for NZ or Samoa if NZ weren't going to play him then he could have played for Samoa in the very successful pacific cup and thus help further grow the sport in the region.

From a Parramatta perspective I can see this either making Inu more hungry for next season or it could have dented his confidence, I hope it to be option A
  • Hey lets be honest , it wasnt inus best season . yes he played a couple good games but was mostly a dark horse in 2009. with tahu coming back in 2010 i expect inu to go in leaps and bounds as he tries to keep his spot in the team. Lets hope he does fire up
