Eels web site now has NYC player profiles up. Definately have used a better photographer the NRL side. I hope these young players go well & the team has a really succesfull year.
Colin Hussey: Are the Eels pulling a swifty here? There is Craige Field and Tom Field And they/he look the same bloke! Right below him/they is Amanake Manu and Kelepi Manu. They Look the same bloke! Have we got two sets of identical twins in the one team? We could pull a Morris twins caper here much to our advantage.
That's identical twins for you, Robert. They look EXACTLY the same.

Robert. I would dare say they are there to confused the opposition.
Seriously - They are both brothers, as the profiles show each as being the same birth dates, height, weight & playing positions also the same. Likely they are twins, does happen.
I saw that to it looks so, I must say what's with so many Pacific Islanders in the squad, sure many are great athletes and skillful but I think the 20's have overdone it my point is size doesn't matter if you have no heart. I also wonder how many will be RMC and Sydney Shield discards by seasons end if you look at the last 5 years with those sorts of players.
To be honest, whether they're Islander or not is irrelevant. The players that are good enough from this NYC crop will play first-grade or at the very least, play SL or be in feeder teams to earn future FG opportunities.
Not everyone makes it, that is a given. But those who are good enough, will do so.
So you're saying that if you're athletic (going to assume that just means tall and built) and skillful you automatically have no heart? I assume you're talking about someone like Jarrod Tompkins who is 195cm tall and weighs 117kgs, believe it or not but he was heavier at the start of pre-season and over the course of the pre-season he's dropped approx 9kgs.
Mo. While I may agree with you up to a point, thing is that the club & the juniors are building up their playing strength that includes many players of both islander as well as coming from other areas of the country. They come to the eels as they want to play for the club, & often overlooked by their home clubs.
I went to the SG Ball & Mathews cup at Wyong a fortnight ago & spoke to a fellow who is in the know, he explained that many of our local juniors are trying out for other clubs for the simple reason, the eels standards are too hard, those that are comming through are very skilled & will serve us well, but many of them will not make it past this year though.
Thing is, that if you look through the clubs each of these players come from you will find the majority are from local leagues clubs, a rough count has them at 20 juniors. Lets not forget that the eels junior district does have a few locations that have a fair few ethnic cultures including the Islanders.
Many of those islanders while only kids have size about them but so do some of the non islanders as well.
Ham what I say applies to all I just don't want to see another softie like a Tony Williams come through, all hustle and bustle then when the going gets tough you see the players with real heart. Even the massive Dave Klemmer wasn't immune to this remember the deciding origin game last year?
Colin I think that's just poor attitude we'll never break a premiership drought with juniors that think that. Who are they trying out for? I say this because look how well the other closest clubs are doing..
Colin, dont be fooled by the trial result at penrith.the parra side played a full strength penrith side minus their half, hooker, best front rower and their fullback.every bounce of the ball went penriths way.read nothing into this result.players like gafa, stowersand amone are up with your stars as well ricky.just wait and see
"Exactly, MeelK. 100% agree. Which could also be protection against the NRL if they plan to try and get some sort of payback.
What a sensational win by the Eels this is. Stoked we didn't fold an accept financial compensation & a player not worthy of…"
"This would seriously be one of the best bit of news we've received as parra fans imo! Fifteen other clubs to talk turkey with Zac and eventually there's gonna be one we give our written approval to exit to! ...we are not unreasonable just play…"
