League great Bryan Fletcher says he thinks NRL bosses would be hoping Storm young gun Sua Fa'alogo seeks a move to a rival club in the wake of teammate Ryan Papenhuyzen's extension at Melbourne. Papenhuyzen put weeks of speculation to bed after signing a one-year contract extension that will keep him at Melbourne until the end of 2026, having turned down a longer-term deal that came with a significant pay cut.
Papenhuyzen could have agreed to join another club on more money but is excited about what the Storm are building after they fell short against Penrith in this year's grand final. Papenhuyzen's extension means he, Jahrome Hughes and Harry Grant are now all signed until the end of 2026, while Cameron Munster is locked in until 2027, boosting the Storm's hopes of a premiership under master coach Craig Bellamy.

Dogs are chasing 18 year old fullback Connor Votano from the Knights and asking if they’d release
Dogs fans claiming they have a superior development system than us which is hard to argue with - that's in response to us signing three former bulldogs players, Gus a has done a heap of work on the development pathways like partnering up with the Western Clydesdales, junior reps results have improved - I really hope we get this part of our program is good shape.

We should definitely have a crack at Fa'alogo for wing. He and Iongi can battle it out for FB, but it gives us some good cover for FB having multiple players able to play the position.
Hoping Ryles' Storm connection can play a part here, The Dogs would probably be our only competition here as everyone else has their FB position locked up.
Sua is contracted until 2028, looks like he's patience will wear a little thin with the storm - paps could be heading to Roosters as a replacement for Teddy, agree we should have a real crack at Sua he is a electric.
He has an option to leave if they resigned Paps because it blocked him from playing first grade. He will move on.
Why would Fa'alogo leave Melbourne to play Wing for us? He would only leave for a fullback spot.
Wingers seemed to have bypassed centres in terms of value, that was never the case in the past - could Iongi transition to wing or centre?
Have Wingers became more important than Centres? Depending on how you attack they can be. Do players want to play Centre instead of Wing? Most seem to.
Cobbo wanted to move to Centre. Jojo Fifita wants to move to Centre. Lomax is desperate to play Centre. It is still a stigma to most backline players to be seen as a full-time Winger. If they had the chance to play Centre, most would. Simonsson is prime example who rathers Centre over Wing.
I still contend i would rather a world class Centre over a world class Winger, defence being the main reason, though Wingers are more important in the game than ever. But some claimed to paying Brian To'o $1 mil a season which is just insane in my opinion. Only the four spine spots deserve to be paid $1 mil. But that is a discussion for another day. The way i think about it is if you have a rookie, like say Blaize Talagi, where would you rather him debut? Wing or Centre? I think it is more disastrous having a kid fail at Centre than on the Wing.
Fa'alogo would be a class Centre, but he wants to be a Fullback. Iongi on the Wing? Sure, he could do it.
In To'o's defence, having him is like have a forward/prop and a winger in one he's that good. Not sure he'd get $1mil, but he'd get a good salary if he went to market.
He would but with desperate teams. Roosters would not pay a Winger more than $600-650k. Wests Tigers would pay To'o $900k.
Even though he is like a Prop in attack, in defence he does not do half the work Props do. It is too much pressure on cap paying a Winger that money.
To play first grade. He had the option in his contract for a reason, that's because he should be playing first grade by now, which has been blocked by Paps. He may not leave to play wing, but he will leave to play FB.
