November 1 Targets for 2027

There's a significant amount of players off contract for 2027 so I thought we'd do our favourite GM, Mark O'Neill a hand by helping him identify a few potential players worth chasing that will help give us a competitive chance to play for the finals next year. We do have Luai, Leniu, Schiller and Su'a coming, but I think we're still short a couple of backs. As for 2028, we need to find a 5/8 and while i'm a fan of Volkman, just quite aint there yet, well at least for the topic of this off season blog.

I've had a look at the players off contract for 2027 and 2028 based on Zero Tackle's comprehensive list and have added players from each club that we could target.

2027 Position Priority (open to your suggestions)

Left Wing (a strike winger to replace JAC) Let's trot baby! 😆
Left Centre (Best, Bostock are obvious choices)
Left 2nd Row (depends where Jack Williams plays
Backup Fullback (Someone that can cover wing when Simonson gets injured and Fullback)

"Not so tough Wizard, nothing as tough as what JAC has gone through.....with regards to Daz, my overlord you call him LOL.... the fact he is a scientist and twice as smart as both of us would have him explaining to you that every scientist is open…"

Yeah, that was his issue when he left us, another year wouldn't have helped him.

Definitely NOT Captain Poppa, but I agree, we could do a lot worse if we need a center. No one ever beat him on effort.

After the news of Fox's B sample testing negative, I will be happily striking #1 from the list ☺️

Thanks. I didn't realise there were so many good players off contract that we could have a crack at. We need to start investing in some wingers that can also play Fullback now we've lost Joash and Apa. Players like Ramsey, Wilson and Meaney would have been great as Iongi needs some cover.

There's also a few players that we should consider throwing a lifeline for if they don't get picked up: Mozer, Mariner, Timoko,

There's going to be a massive merry-go-round happening over the next few months. We need to make sure we are well and truly on it with cheque book in hand.
