  • Has to be a depth option. IIRC, he left on pretty bad terms with the Raiders and he was pretty shit too. He hasn't been sighted in the NRL since. These Super League players don't often cut it in NRL. Look how Lewis Dodd is going at Souths. He's only had half a game in first grade and isn't cutting it with Bennett.

    • Williams is one of the English players who actually played well but, just left cause homesick. Good player if his mind is on it.

  • The only position I would fill with English players is prop.

I highly doubt Katoa is leaving the Dolphins but if he is, throw everything we have at him and fill the rest of our Roster with juniors.

    1. Iongi

    6. Moses

    7. Katoa

    9. Smith

That would be a fantastic spine.

    • So 2.5Mil for our 1/2's ok good deal

      • Yes it is a good deal when you consider what the fullback and hooker are on genius.

    • If you have a look at that even there your only looking 3-3.5 in cap still well short of what Melbourne are investing in there spine.

  • Is there any chance we can afford Katoa with Moses still at the club. Yes we have DB's money but Katoa would want more than that? Obviously got plenty of money but would that fuck up our cap too much? Our fullback and 9 are not on too much money so perhaps we can afford are halves being on 2.5M a year for now. When Moses hangs up the boots it will help manage the cap of our spine and give upgrades to Iongi and whoever our 9 is.

Also can you play Katoa & Moses in the same team at NRL level when both are halfbacks? Personally I think it can happen with Katoa at 6 and Moses at 7. But I would have Katoa play first receive in attack more with his tempo to create space for the speed of Moses & Iongi. Moses can still steer the team around and kick long. Katoa can learn the game management from him. Would Katoa want this though?

This is a wet dream. But cannot see it happening lol.

    • You'll be able to afford it because of the rising cap and you'd like to think if the front office get there shit together TPAs come to the party.

I mean if Melbourne can afford Paps Munster Hughes and Grant is it really out of the question us affording Moses for another 4 and Katoa for a decade if we can't afford something like that and Melbourne basically have 4 guys taking up 4 mill plus in cap yearly well we are wasting our time what or whoever we recruit.

    • Brother seriously, eels couldn't sign Galvin how the fark are they gonna sign Katoa?

    • EA, I doubt it and when you factor in upgrades to Papalli / Iongi / Smith I doubt it very much; hardly any clubs can do this; and when is Katoa off contract? In some ways we could look at movin on Moses....but thats a big call and the experience factor is also something to consider but his injuries are hurting us.

We have also got little value out of D Brown for me.
