I would love to have tino but wouldn't want to be paying over $1m per season. No team paying over $1m per season for a forward has done any good.
Forwards lay the foundations for classy halves and fullbacks to win you games and comps, you need at least 3-4 really good forwards to do that not 1 great forward on big money.
If there is a forward that you could consider paying $1mil for, Tino would be one. I still am stubborn going by only the spine positions should get a mil but Tino is a freak of a player and a leader.
I tend to agree with you LB, spending big money on a prop is risky and something I'm not a fan of but when have you ever seen Tino not turn up? His work rate week in week out is top shelf, reminds me of Gallen. Watching the dolphins game right now and can't help but think how underrated Ray Stone is. He's one that got away on us. His last play for us epitomises what he is about. He was the only one following that ball when he scored and won us that game and did his ACL. I actually think he should be playing back row, there's a lot of Angus Chrichton/Liam Martin about Ray Stone
I was really peed when stone left. Really rate him. Watching tonight s game his effort off the ball is amazing. He never stops running. Tino would be good. I wouldn't mind Carrington would be a lot cheaper too..
The year we lost Mahoney, Niukore, Kaufusi, Papali, Stone. We resigned Matterson in 2022 and he's done bugger all since. Hindsight wish we kept stone and let Matto go
For us, we could actually afford Tino and still get a decent 6. Even if you go say Pezet, you can afford Tino. Though feel he would be going to Perth to be fair. Or Dogs.
If it was a case of Jnr leaving and Tino taking over it would make sense. Tino would be awesome for on and off field. But I agree you can't have so much money in the front row.
"I think thats the problem. He is too good for NSW cup so we are trying to jut fit him into the NRL team somehow . But in reality he is not a 6 or a 9. Just a fullback right now. During the recent pre-season Papalii only spent time training with…"
"The chances of him being our 6 next year are very low, if he was a serious consideration he would be playing 6 now with dylan at centre. I'll be very surprised if he is our starting 6 next season unless he gets a lot more time there this season. "
"I think Joash is a good player, but from what I've seen only at fullback or on the wing. Those positions we've got pretty well covered, so I guess he's a great back up option. I'd like to see him in 1st grade, but I dont know how he fits in?"

Thats correct LB. Then buzz was all over it and it fell through.

Carrigan, though not as good as Tino is the next tier down and not far off. He would be cheaper as well.

If you already had 3 good young forwards on low to mid level money deals yeah, sure pay him $1m as long as your spine is also set.
