Joash set for his starting debut

Here's a summary:

## Key Points
1. Parramatta Eels' Joash Papalii is set to make his starting debut in the No.6 jersey against the Titans.
2. The opportunity arises due to suspensions/injuries to key players Dylan Brown and Mitch Moses.
3. Dean Hawkins will start at No.7.
4. Papalii has played 3 games as an interchange player and has experience playing in the halves at NSW Cup level.
5. Teammate Zac Lomax praises Papalii, saying he's "light on his feet" and "trains really well."

    • I don't consider it suffering, as fans we can do what we want to i.e. walk away if you like.

That said I agree about Lomax, those thoughts have been going through my head since the first game. I cannot criticise him just the same, his effort has been fantastic.

Finally we have fine beaches on the Parramatta River, Little Cogee and fly fishing under the lennox bridge, why would you want to be in "smog" ridden Illawarra with the broken sewerage system, terrible local facilities, no  International airport, religious extremist's, not to mention the climate, I hear its snowing at the blow hole .....yes it is tough on Lomax at present but he is living in a winter wonder land and looking forward to our resort style summer activities at  Kellyville, just a resort away from Cumberland Oval. Home of the Benaud's and Doug Walters.

Sorrry Wiz, what does "hyperbole" mean again.

    • Well that's a waste of your feelings. Lomax says his happy with his decision, and loves the blue and gold. His here for four years maybe he has more faith in the coaching staff and team then you have.

    • 😂😂😂

True but he obviously hates Flanno and the dragons more than winning a spoon at Parra Wiz...

As for the rest of what you said, we are without doubt the stupidest club in the NRL. How we still haven't replaced Drown is one of life's mysteries I'll never understand. What are doing, waiting for all the options to be signed elsewhere or waiting for their value to increase? Dumbest bunch of fuckwits I've ever seen.

As for Moses, he's a worry and a greedy one too. Fancy playing 12 games for your club the last two years but playing all of the rep games until SOO 2 this year...

I don't know what we do from here but I think Moses will only get more injury prone from here as he gets older so something has to give. Rep footy or his career at Parra.

      • "How we still haven't replaced Drown is one of life's mysteries I'll never understand."

If we look at some of the key recruits for this season in Dylan Walker and Josh Addo-Carr, neither were available when we were actively in the market, they became available and we snapped them up. That's how a lot of recruitment happens. The club isn't going to rush into a replacement now that Galvin has gone to the Dogs. As we've seen with DCE, one movement can trigger a bunch of moves in the player market

        • You can't just hope and wait until a player gets done driving on the bags or getting himself in a bit of strife and then have to chase his wife back to Aus , to make a key signing.  What if nobody gets themself sacked in the offseason ?,

          • Well that's the risk we might have to take Wiz. It's all about cheap bargains mate and you won't find those paying market or above for said players.

          • That's not what I'm saying. I'm saying the player market isn't as predictable as you'd think and players we'd like may be on the market suddenly, or one player moving to 1 club could trigger another player hitting the market. For example the Titans right now have too many halves/fullbacks and one or two of them could hit the market.

Just because we haven't gone out and immediately signed a player (which we tried to do with Galvin) doesn't mean we're not in the market or not doing anything on that side of things.

It's not about cheap bargains either. It's about making sure we pay the right money for the right player and not over spend because we panic.

    • The worst part of this Wiz is basically if we don't get a team built in the next 2 years I'd be looking to move Moses sooner than later.

Right now the dream for us would be to get Katoa in here and just build the side round him. That guys not in his prime yet and you'd happily sign him 5+ years and 7 figures and call it a day. Then your not having to worry about what happens to Moses because you have long term locked in.

I think they were thinking something similar around Brown but clauses scuttled that and that ships sailed. Now we are in the injury window with regards to Moses they need to engage a longer term replacement. But what I suspect they'll wait until the wheels fall off before looking  at it and by then it'll be too late.

Even though Katoa is unlikely if I were going to go all in and sell the farm Katoa is who I'd be going for more so than Galvin or anyone else mentioned that guy is looking like the next great 7 to play in the nrl.

How do Moses and Katoa play together really easily JR that's on you.

MoN Jim Sarantinos Matt Beech make it happen.

8-10 yrs at 1.3 per will get it done.

      • I don't think you would get him for 1.3m Coryn, even if we went 1.5m I think Dolphin's would match it.
