But coach Brad Arthur wasn’t just resilient before the match, he was positively upbeat in spite of the stunning news.

“I haven’t seen energy like what I’ve just seen in the sheds now in my seven years,” Arthur told Fox League.

“I called all the players this morning to let them know the news, and when I mentioned Haze playing they all roared down the phone at me.

“The confidence, energy... as I say I’ve never seen more in my seven years.”

Skipper Clint Gutherson echoed his coach’s comments, saying “we’re confident”.
