Maybe. Smith looks smaller, probably 15kg lighter, while google tells me they're similar heights. I like what Smith offers in energy and between the ears, leadership material, and I'd say he might end up reading the game better than some here assume. His cricket-batting background suggests he has to think 360 degrees. Smith seems to be the kind of guy that would give six or thirteen a crack if asked and add 10-15kg. I just love his attitude from the distance.

What I personally love about Smith is his never say die attitude and the fact he is physically capable of standing up to defend against large forwards. With due respect to Reed Mahoney, it was a case of tackle low with the possibility of being runover, invariably that happened but no one doubted his courage. Smith seems to be above that and he is so smart I think the ball skills will come naturally to him.....
