National Anthem

Wallabies and New Zealand showed on Saturday night the spirit on how the game should be played. It was televised to each RU nation that every member of both teams embraced the National Anthem. No race or religion, just good old belting the tune out. What did the NRL deliver yesterday. A fraction of each team weakly sang the Anthem, and most did not bother at all, and that is down to Administration of the V'Landys and Abdo game. Race, religion and politics are now a feature of the NRL product along with the man bags, eye liner and brows. And what about the disastrous Swims half time debacle:

  • U forgot nail polish

  • Wasn't Teddy on pre game?

Didn't see it, why was it a debacle?

  • You do realise that Wallabies and AllBlacks are national rep teams. right Alan, exactly the arena for an anthem....Why do we even play it at the GF?? There are only 3 states involved...The N in NRL doesn't make it national. We know where we are from and who we are. NRL only sing the Anthem to pump up the occasion.

Race, religion and politics are now a feature of the NRL...Do tell. I'd love to hear your specific complaints And those Manbags that  seem to really get on your tits. Plz tell us more about this disasterous situation

Vlandys and Abdo blow goats. You probably do too

    • You know how it goes, Randy - gotta have something to whinge about....

      • Purity testing for Patriotism while sooking about the horror of Manbags.

        • I do love the idea quaint idea everyone singing the national anthem is a triumph and an absence of race and religious difference. And the implication that there's something wrong with expressing one's race or religion.

  • It is a club game after all, why should someone like Jerome Hughes sing the national anthem? Thats one example, countless players. Say they were born in England, why should they sing the national anthem. Your logic is pretty flawed, about the other garbage you mentioned, everything in life is influenced by politics, religion and race.

Most people complaining about the pre-game entertainment are people who would want to hear a metal band belt out a set, but in reality, looking at the bands from the 80s they all embraced make up, nail polish and weird culture. The double standards from us Aussies can sometimes be ridiculous.

    • My problem with the pregame is that the act was not Australian. It's modern cultural cringe.

      What are others sooking about?

      • My problem with it all is that Parra wasn't playing in it.
