Looks like we will get shafted once again, I wonder if the NRL would step in if it was the Tigers pushing to get Lomax

  • 200k is an absolute joke!

  • Jim will walk into the meeting fuming, then walk out the meeting with a smile and $200 in his pocket.

    Quote "cash is king"

  • Nrl taking care of Melbourne again. If they try to force parramatta to do anything, take the pricks to court

  • Do ANY of the 3 mentioned Storm players actually want to come to the Eels?

    • That part we don't know but for a guy like Howarth who doesn't get regular nrl game time I'd assume he'd jump at the chance to be a starting centre. Seems like Bellamy is almost done to and lot of the Storm guys leaving. Doesn't sound like Storm in the best shape right now

      • Howarth is constantly picked. However, if Lomax joins it will be a back 5 of

        Fa'alogo

        Coates

        Meaney

        Lomax

        Warbrick

Unless the plan is Howarth to the back-row not sure where he fits. Could be an option if he wants to start.

        • he's never really found his feet at storm, be it injury or just others like Grant Anderson ahead of him. In and out a lot. I'd be sick of that

  • I'm not sure what all the fuss is about, until Lomax signs with another nrl club this whole thing is a non issue and no wrong has been committed. We have a written release agreement (which is apparently water tight). If that is what ends up happening then we should commence civil proceedings against him.

I'm not sure why the league or the players association all of a sudden want to have their say now, they were silent when Lomax agreed to those terms. One other thing why should the storm be offering a transfer fee? If we are owed compensation by anyone it's Lomax himself that should be footing the bill.

    • The issue is the NRL now threatening interference more likely leads to them bullying us into just letting him go. Melbourne and Lomax get their way and we sit there with nothing.

Like divorcing someone, you want nothing but the house, they agree to not get the house and take the car. But then come back and say have nowhere to live and want the house.

Lawyers come in and say just give her the house and you're left with the PlayStation as a consultation.

I mean they offered $200k and that money cannot be used on the cap. It can only be used around the club. What a joke. I would say to the NRL we will take money if it can be on the cap.

      • I know how life works LB, you don't need to explain it to me.

"Great analogy LB.
Pretty much they want him for nothing but I'm confident Jim's got a handle on this and he's out front on this he doesn't need to say more he's outlined the clubs position has the legal grounding there's not much PVL can do even if…"

"How do you figure that?  The transfer fee does not effect the cap, its just accumalated revenue, the cap stays as it is now, non inclusive of Lomax,  plus it would be a once only payment, doesn't effect future years.
Sorry Iamnot, not trying to pick…"
