I don't want to write too much as everyone knows i can let a lot go in one hit.
All i can say is Murray has to be our starting 7 for 2011 and if he fires beyond.
I have watched his last few Toyota Cup performances to gauge what he has to offer and i am impressed. This guy shows a lot of composure, a fantastic kicking game, good passing game, vision and generally makes the right choices.
If we had him in our side this year we would have been playing finals footy. He has a coolness about him that could be just what the doctor ordered.
Don't expect him to come in and be Cooper Cronk straight off the bat but he remids me a lot of him. Let's put it this way, he is a genuine halfback who knows what to do and doesn't hesitate. What we have to stop trying to do is chase someone that isn't gunna be a quick fix.
Let's be honest, Parra supporters are impatient, i admit it, but it's been 24 years whats another year or 2 or 3. If this guy becomes our 7, Morts or Humble or Quade in 2012 steps into the 6, Hayne learns more at 1 and Mitchell fires at 9 we could really build a strong spine for the future.
The way i see it is we come 12th this year i don't expect to win it next year but with the right combinations and attitude we could be right back up there in finals footy and hit it the year after or year after that.
What does everyone else think about Muarray at 7? I think he definitely has the goods.

If you watch the way he plays one thing he isn't is raw.
Untested in first grade yes, but raw no.
IF we do not play Murray at 7 who would you give the gig to?
I was smiling ear to ear watching him on Saturday. Playing in what was obviously an infererior team compared to their opposition, he was head and shoulders in front of anyone else. Keep in mind, they were $4.60 outsiders going up against a team that has won every game with the exception one draw since round 7 and went down by two after the fulltime siren (when Murray was off - Picked up an injury)
His ability to keep the pressure on the opposition with repeat sets was awesome and was able to set up some nice tries. It'sexactly what we've been missing fro TWO years. Even in our run to the GF we were hopeless at getting repeat sets of six.
If this guy can give us that abitliy, it will give Hayne and Morts alot more chances to fire bullets at the opposition.
Only young, but the most natural half we've got. Needs to work on his running game, but the ingredients are there.
Also a gun goalkicker. Season success reate of 80% and he's kicked 102 goals. Thats good stuff.
Difference is Murray has always played 7 and is a halfback whereas Morts is a 6 and everyone agrees on that.
We have to stop being impatient and build our spine 1,6,7 and 9. If Murray is one of the key ingredients everyone should be happy.
I have always said, with a guy like Hayne at the back you only need a good, solid, consistent halves combination not dynamite. Hayne will do the rest if you set the platform for him. HE IS THE DYNAMITE but without the fuse the bomb doesn't go off.
Not sure if Murray has the cred to step in and do that. Remember it has taken Mitchell Pearce at least 3 years and he has had Anasta to help him. That's why Braith is the best (slight) possibility at the moment. Forget these has been halves. None of them will be able to add to the future. Let's just bite the bullet and see how the boys go next year and launch an all out assault for a half/ five eighth combo for 2012.
I agree about Hindy being captain, i personally don't believe a forward should be the captain unless its the lock. I think one of the spine should be as they play 80 mins and generally know the game inside and out.
The captain needs to be the inspiration. Anasta would be a fantastic captain but forget the idea he WILL NOT leave the Roosters.
Murray can steer the team around the paddock. Give the guy the chance.
Let's look to the long term and stick with the RIGHT halves combo. Maybe Murray at 7, Humble at 6 and Mortimer at 14????
