      • How can they say he is not physically ready if he played so many JF games last year at 18? His physicality wouldn't go backwards after a year at that age lol. Rokusuka was 18th man in our last SG ball game of the year so I assume he is fit? Sorovi is probably the most physically developed amongst all despite being young

        • Howlett probably played so many games last year for the same reason he has only played one game this year; because that's how many games he was needed for.

As for Sorovi, there's other reasons a player might not be ready for the step up. He's big and strong but does he have enough ability in other areas?

Anyway I never saw too much in either of these two. Hopefully Bloomfield and Rokosuka show enough to get an opportunity.

          • I see more in Sorovi than Roksuka but I agree Bloomfield is the best of all with Howlett having the lowest ceiling. Howlett will be your Meaney/Chester type of player. Versatility and plenty of effort but don't expect him to be an elite player. Sorovi defence positioning/reads can sometimes be poor but so is 95% of outside backs this age. His ability on the ball is great. Best yardage and finisher of those 4 outside backs.

    • It why I bang on like I do looking elsewhere EA I've been watching what we are bringing in that department for the last 4-5 seasons and it just isn't pretty.

Eels have zero options but to go to market to fix this area of the side.If we are still rolling out Nanva Russell Penisini types we are in big trouble.

      • Nanva is a back up. Russel is gone and has been not as good this year anyway. Penisni is going backwards. I like Simmo bt he is always injured. Kelly is a more rocks than diamonds. Samarani is more of a future backrower but given his performance and other people performances he will probably keep a spot next year at centre. So Fox is really the only FG outside back we can rely on and he is getting old himself and once he looses his speed, he loses a lot of his value. I hope Bloomfield, Risati and Kotorac get JF game time at the end of the year. They are currently playing school union on the weekends so are not available. To end the year JF need to line up like this: *(denotes players that could be promoted to nsw cup)

        1. Bamblet *
        2. Bloomfield
        3. Howlett
        4. Leiluai
        5. Sorovi/Rokusuka (promote one of these 2-5 to NSW cup so all of them get game time)
        6. Risati
        7. Fletcher
        8. Popo *
        9. Coinakis *
        10. Miller
        11. Petrus*
        12. Famui
        13. Koina*
        14. Hudson *
        15. Nunn
        16. Kotorac
        17. Nauer
        18. Pakatoi
        19. Ong
        20. Polley
        21. Leulai

We will have Talagi, Alamadine, Funa-Iuta, Visconti, Lokeni, Richie, Vaivela, Lorenzo, Beattie in nsw cup and they are all JF eligible. But from that list you could eliminate a couple plyers from being NRL players lol.

    • Is Bloomfield the boom pick of them EA?

      • LB one of my clients knows manager mario tartak. Anyway there was a carnival in cessnock galvins old man was there. Apparently he told tartak the bulldogs style doesn't suit his son. He said i need to find him a club that does suit his style. He also said his son should of went to parra.

        • Like I was saying about a club with player unrest. I reckon the dogs will be ripe for the picking if things continue to unravel the way they are at the moment.

Of all the comings and goings during Ryles tenure Galvin is the one and only player I regret us not getting (I've said it previously). It has to be said however that he had his chance and brushed us and if he does actually want out from the dogs that's two contracts in as many clubs that he has broken. So from our perspective caution must be adhered to and our offer shouldn't be what it was previously. Find out if he genuinely wants us or not.

          • 100 percent correct. Few players are not happy with ciraldo favouring certain plsyers.

          • They could be and Gus also would happily move some aswell and look for the new flavor's of the month. If Ciraldo gets sacked, which is a chance if they finish bottom 4, i reckon Galvin could be collateral damage from that since he would be seen as Ciraldo's decision, which he technically was.

If Galvin was to seek a release, Ryles would definately revisit as from all i have heard is when he rang Ryles to say he was going to Canterbury the talk was positive, as in no hard feelings.
