Sad to say it we'll be wooden spooners for a long time. Nothing seems to be happening at the club.
Parrafan how can you go from positive and i can feel we will get Burton, to just saying "we will be spooners for a long time" simply by a rumour of Dearden going to Souths. Like seriously some people. I would argue heavily backs are more crucial for us to address before 5/8. There are still some quality backs on the market. Now if they are off the market and none sign for us, then the panic button can be pushed.
I mean you said a few weeks ago you are 100% certain we get Burton. Well ok, if we have Burton like you think, why do we need Dearden? Why is it we are now spooners for not getting him, we have Burton?
The bipolar reaction of some people on here is ridiculous. I know it sucks but maybe wait til November the latest and see what we have. They could have 0 signings and we can be worried or they could have 2 done and another nearly ready to go. Plus as well, after the GF teams begin to cut dead wood to extend their current players. Players pop up and are available when you think they aren't. Not saying we should have to wait as we should have had players signed that we chased, but it is what it is.
Plus those saying 'SIGN A PLAYER' well we did. Two actually. Su'A and Edwards. You do not stipulate the quality just simply sign a player, any player it seems.

I mean we are all guilty of it at some points. I have been in the past. But it is just annoying to be fair that there is no in between. If the team is good it's "Premiers or nothing" or slightly bad "We are spooners for the next decade" all because of a rumour from a site that has poor strike rate, in a position that is of need but way less than our back 5.
We would sign Dearden, break the bank. Then people complain "Where did all the money go?"
Axel, one of the best replies on this site. Sick and tired of all the 'agony aunts' on here complaining about this and that. Looks like angst lives rent-free in their brains.
Agree with Axel, LB and Eelovution. The only caveat I would offer is that I understand the agony aunts, indeed I am often there with them, but I find it tedious when agony aunt morphs into talk of rye club, its management, its recruitment etc.
For instance, with the agony aunts, I fundamentally didn't think the Eels would come back to roll the Cowboys. I was also at the ground in Newy and expecting to see Knights roll out to a 20 point margin (not 6).
But while I am happy to talk of coaching, "club talk" is mostly half baked scapegoating and so repetitive it is boring as shit. Also a big distraction
An example: why on earth was Iongi defending in the "pocket" vs Knights? He was just behind the ruck and that led directly to two tries, one where he and KitKat collided to let the hooker through and another where he was too shallow to stop a flying backrower. Club talk takes over footy talk and we don't end up discussing things like that coach call
Yeah you're right, I do say some stupid shit sometimes. Also hearing that Jenkins rumour is 100% true.
