That was an awesome watch and they gave alot of insight into how the halfback position has evolved and the importance of having good coaching coming through grade is.Thanks OP that was an enjoyable watch.
Enjoyable interview, great to see the club opening itself up, providing more content and reconnecting back to clubs legends like sterlo. Also, Horo is creating a profile for himself with Sen Radio, podcasting with Mason etc so good move reaching out to Justin.
I gotta say when I first watched it, first thing I said was 'what the fcuk is Sterlo trying to say'......be patient? Nothing is guaranteed this is gonna work BUT be patient.
It means unlike the previous coach, who was all about himself, Ryles has a plan in place to develop players from within, and along with diligent signing and the right coaching success is inevitable.
We let in 700 points last year. That won't be fixed in a few months.

Stop that shit chief Parra hasn't been a developer of talent since the smith and Fitzgerald regime were in place.
What it continues to tell me is how poorly off the field we continue to be led.Thats where the rot starts the coach is but a symptom of it there's a reason we've had 7 of them in the last 20 plus seasons.JR isn't fixing poor decision making above him.
Ask yourself this who gets fired first JR MoN or Jim 3,2,1 go.

Nobody's getting fired if they have just put systems in place to improve the club in a sustainable manner. We will need to allow time for these to come to fruition but understand fans want to see results now. The trick is how to balance these two things.
Coryn I watched with interest last night as Talagi got a run when Cleary went off.
What I noticed brings home a lot of what you are saying. Firstly I was surprised he was this close, but what they did was hide him on the other side of the ruck so he was not directly involved in front line defence, Parra played him in the front line.
Next he actually rolled into the structure and made some initial good defensive assists and then towards the end with no lateral requiremnets he defended soundly, say 3 or 4 tackles. His kicking game has already developed.
OK whats this mean, it means to me that playing within a system was much more effective for him personally as against being thrown to the wolves by us last year. I still believe he will not be anything overly special, he still lacks outright pace, but it still tells me how a player we may see as ordinary can be succesful in teams like Penrith and Melb and it sort of explains how we are all surprised as those two seem to pluck players from nowhere, the answer being average players can look so much better in a structure.
I am critical at this stage that we have shown nothing from the benefit of a preseason I was expecting a lot more of..... maybe I need to be more understanding of how long it may take.
I suspect you may have noted those differences as well.
PS With your experience with footballers have you observed what I have been saying about DB's burnout and if so what sort of permanence could it have. I have seen a lot of forwards burnout, but not really backs?
