Eels halfback Mitchell Moses admits it took some tough love from coach Brad Arthur to turn his form around, after a horror 2018 season.
Parramatta finished with the wooden spoon and Moses credits Arthur for getting him back on track ahead of 2019.
“Brad and I had a few tough conversations during the off-season,” Moses said.
“I went back and had a good hard look at myself about what I was doing with my footy and what I was doing away from footy.
“I just said, ‘enough is enough’ and I had to change something and so I changed a few things and it is showing in the first two rounds.”
Moses lost halves partner Corey Norman to the Dragons over the off-season and there were reports suggesting the pair didn’t see eye-to-eye.
Moses himself was reportedly being shopped around to rival clubs, but he said a simple change of mindset helped him turn things around.
“It is about controlling what I can control,” Moses explained.
“I was worrying about everyone else and blaming everyone else for my mistakes.
“I just had a good hard look at myself and a good chat with Brad and our relationship has been the best it has been since I came to the club.
“He has really helped my game as much as we have been helping him as well.”
Moses also cut short a holiday to get back to training early, after the Eels horror end to their 2018 campaign, that yielded just six wins.
“I had a trip booked and I thought it was probably not the time to go because we came last,” Moses said.
“It wasn’t the time to go away and let loose, so I went back to training a bit earlier and I feel like it has helped me and put me one step ahead of everyone else.”
The Eels next host the defending premiers the Roosters in a blockbuster clash at ANZ Stadium on Friday night.

Not sure what the point is with this post Collin. it's an old story that has been rehashed a number of times.
Let's move on and see whether Mitchell can carry his form over the next few months.
