I think that will naturally happen with a young side defending multiple sets in a row. Teams will work you over and get quick play the balls. But to their credit despite the miss tackles and ruck speed they scrambled excellently which arguably means they are fit?
It can be a factor of getting the rust off and getting match fitness in there. Rewatching the end of 1st half, they were feeling it, the way they were falling off tackles, leading to quick play the balls. HT came at the right time for us to regroup. The new crop came on to start 2nd half and fatigue didn't really matter in the end as we were in complete control.
Odd stat though, Cronulla had 52 missed tackles and 30 ineffective. We only had 4 ineffective. That is incredible.
Im not sure about the fitness call. The Sharks had all the ball in the back end of the half and the ref blew the pea out of the whistle. 9-3 penalty count at the moment and they scored with 30 seconds in the half.
It's a trial so there's no point going off early but Tago and Kelma have been the only 2 weak links so far imo. Get Nanva or Richie out on that left wing now. Give them good minutes
I agree regarding fitness. Thought we were good. I don't think Kelma has been bad, but you can just tell he is more suited to an impact role of the bench.
We had way more ball in that first portion of the half, including numerous back to back sets. Now could it be some were out there too long? With Talagi coming off and Doorey having to play 10-15mins more than needed? Perhaps but it wasn't until the last 10 where Cronulla really started getting more possession.
I do agree that surely Richie is better than Tago as an option at this stage. I was willing to give Tago a chance but he looked out of it.
Russell saved Tago twice in try scoring situations against us. One was when Tago was bumped off effecting a tackle close to the line and Russell came in and stopped a certain try. The other was when the ball was grubbered into the in goal and Tago had no idea, once again Russell to the rescue to scoop up the grubber and took it touch in goal. Tago looks lost at 1st grade level and isn't a solid backup.

"Hey i would not have any issues with Bostock if he signed, just don't think they would let him go. They would let Isaako go before him.
Talakai and another decent player is fair value for Lomax. But gettin a 29 year old Talakai, whose defence is…"

Yes EA
I haven't been that impressed with Da Silva even last year but he might come good
He is 20, so that is on his side.
